Chapter 61 – The Confession & The Exposure
Next Morning – Prem Leaves for the Trip
Prem stood at the door with a small duffel bag slung over his shoulder — passport, laptop, a few changes of clothes, and a notebook full of questions about Aadhil and Rohan.
Nivi stood in the foyer — arms folded loosely, Aara asleep upstairs.
He turned to her — voice calm, almost gentle.
“I’m going for a business trip. Kerala. Few days… maybe a week.”
Nivi nodded — expression neutral.
“Okay. Take care. Call when you land.”
Prem looked at her for a second longer — searching her face.
“You too. Take care of Aara. And… yourself.”
She gave a small smile — “I will.”
He kissed her forehead — brief, habitual.
Then he was gone — car headlights sweeping across the gate as he drove away.
Nivi closed the door — leaned against it for a moment.
Her chest felt tight.
She wasn’t sure why she felt this way — a strange hollow ache, like something was slipping out of her hands.
She walked upstairs — checked on Aara — then sat on the edge of the new bed in their bedroom.
Stared at the ceiling.
What had happened to her?
Why was she so obsessed with sex these days?
The secret encounters — quick, risky, thrilling.
The unasked permissions — Rohan taking her whenever he wanted, wherever he wanted.
And Aadhil… that stolen 5-minute kiss, the way he turned his cheek into her lips, the taste of his tongue.
She touched her mouth unconsciously — felt a flush rise.

She decided — at least to one person, she would stay true.

The Car Horn
The horn honked outside — sharp, familiar.

Nivi grabbed her dupatta — slipped on sandals — went down.
Rohan leaned against his car — casual black t-shirt, jeans, smile easy.
“Ready?”
She got in — door closed with a soft thud.
He started driving — city lights streaking past.
Silence for a minute.
Then Nivi spoke — voice low.
“Rohan… Aadhil kissed me.”
Rohan glanced at her — no surprise, no anger.
Just a small laugh — soft, amused.
“I know.”
Nivi — startled — “What?”
He kept eyes on the road.
“He told me. Same night.”
Nivi stared at him — “And… you’re not angry?”
Rohan shrugged — “Why would I be?”
She blinked — confused.
“I thought… you would get angry. Fight him. Something.”
Rohan smiled — gentle.
“Relax, Nivi. There’s nothing to get angry about.”
Im not your husband or lover. we are just friends. friends with benefits...

He reached over — squeezed her hand briefly.

“I didn’t say he forced me… but…”

“See? It’s perfectly okay. I’ll just tell him you didn’t like it, okay?”
She nodded — relieved, but still unsettled.
Rohan — casual — “Also… you would have liked it with me. Because I was gentle. Took a long time.
While Aadhil… he’s fast. Sudden. Like a stunt.

“Also… next week. We’re going to Cochin. Me, you, and Aadhil. New client he’s referring.”
Nivi — quiet — “Prem is out of town.”
Rohan smiled — “Good then.”
Same Night – Prem in Cochin
Prem reached Cochin — the place Rohan had planned for next week.
He checked into a mid-range hotel near the business district — anonymous, no questions.
Looked out for leads — old contacts, business registries, a few discreet calls.
Next day — he started digging.
Next Morning – Rohan -Nivi's Office
Aadhil arrived at their office — casual, charming.
“We all going to an important place,” he said.
Vani, Nivi, and Rohan looked unsure.
Then everyone boarded his Mercedes.
They reached the new house.
He braked — turned to them — voice calm.
“Nivi and Vani… yes, I’m in affair with Vani. And Rohan with Nivi.”
Silence — thick, stunned.
Rohan smiled — stepped forward.
“These are duplicate keys we made. One set for you — one for us.”
Rohan even tagged all of them along with them to show the secret paths.. to each other bedrooms.. backyards etc..
He handed them each a keyring — small, discreet.
“We have to cover each other.”
Vani and Nivi were shocked — couldn’t meet each other’s eyes.
Rohan — calm — “Now all is open. We are mature adults. Let’s get back to our own spaces. No discussion.”
He took Nivi’s hand — led her to Prem’s room.
Aadhil took Vani to Nitin’s room.
The rooms remained locked till evening.
