Chapter 55 – Prem shares his fear to Nitin


Vani stepped out of the cab that night

Her heart raced — a mix of excitement and nerves.

Aadhil had called it "a rehearsal for the party" — pretend to be his girlfriend, make his ex jealous.

But Vani knew it could be more, She was curious about the surprise Aadhil said…

She aimed to climb the ladder in society — she had this hatred on Nitin, the way he clipped her wings, the way he prioritized his ego over her growth.

Vani had seen it all his flirt.. His gazing eyes on her body when she pretends looking somewhere.. But she was not ready.. She just needed a ladder to grow higher in elite circle..


Aadhil who was now gulping a bear in his guest house.. Preparing some files with his auditor over phone

He knows if he capitalized right — he could bed her. But unsure how she will be ready to bed or need some drama..

He knows Vani looks for a ladder to rise to top.. So he laid a bait which he said as a surprise factor… he had prepared a document in his bag: partner in the project with Aadhil, Nivi, Rohan — 30 lakhs per year.

Vani will be easy, given her recent turmoil.


Next Morning…

As usual, Vani went to the office that morning and informed Nivi about "going to Aadhil's place for discussion."

She hid the details — "It's about the portfolio. He wants to go over numbers."

Nivi knows something is happening between Aadhil and her — the way Vani dressed sharper, smiled more, came back late some days.

But Nivi is not in place to correct her morally.. She is already committing adultery.. And she is bit torn because for her selfishness she is pushing another woman into the same path as her, but....it was the only way she could continue her affair without anyone knowing — Vani covering her absences and she would stay silent even if she comes to notice Nivi's affair.  As Nivi now will have the secret of Vani in her hand....


She looked at her eyes and Vani looking somewhere else.


Nivi understands it.. She is feeling guilty? Aadhil is doing his job well, she thought… she finally got herself to speak

Nivi said — "Okay... I will consider this as OD."

Vani nodded — grateful.
"Thanks, ma'am."




As soon as Vani left the cabin, the door clicked shut behind her.

Nivi turned to Rohan — a small, knowing smile playing on her lips.
"She went out... let's go home."

Rohan stepped closer — his hand sliding to her waist.
"Yes, baby."

They left the office together — the drive to the penthouse silent but charged, the city blurring past the tinted windows.

The penthouse — empty, quiet, the late afternoon sun filtering through half-drawn curtains.

Rohan locked the door behind them — the sound heavy, final.

He pulled her close — bodies pressing, his mouth finding hers in a slow, hungry kiss.

"Time for a new lesson," he murmured against her lips.
Nivi’s breath hitched — curiosity mixed with shyness.
"What is it?"

Rohan’s fingers traced her jaw.

He kissed her again — deeper this time, tongue slow, coaxing her back into the moment.

She melted — hands sliding up his chest, fingers curling into his shirt.

They undressed each other — slow, deliberate, clothes falling like whispers.

Nitin had noticed Prem's distraction — the faraway looks, the short temper.

He was even confused why he had to register the property name only in his name and why he bypassed the engineer.. Nitin had indeed helped with new lawyer. 

He also noticed how Prem made his auditor to secretly monitor and fund flows and he added many clauses that protected Prem from any financial pressures. 

His company and even the sister alliance Rohan  - Nivi’s company projects clauses were re done.. Only that projects needs a signature from Nivi and Rohan.. Rest looked so safeguarded.



Nitin sensed something troubling him and bothered him.. He doesn't want Prem to face these hurdles and he wants to pursue a true friendship for a person who recovered him from struggles and giving so many new chances..

He decided to speak directly to Prem on what's bugging him — he decided to took him out for a quick lunch at a beach resort.


Nitin: Prem, you look tired, let's go out.. I have something to tell you…
Prem : Is that something related to the company?
Nitin: No it's personal.. You come there, let me open.. 


Prem thought Nitin was about to tell something about Nivi.. he was panicked he wished its should not be about her…


Their car reached the Resort…

The resort — open air, waves crashing on the shore, fresh seafood sizzling on the grill, salty breeze ruffling the tablecloth.

They sat under a thatched umbrella — beers in hand, plates of grilled prawns and crab.

Nitin started friendly — "Prem, you seem off lately. Distant. Tell me every detail that's bothering you. I can help as a friend."

He recalled how Prem was unfriendly during the old days... but that was different.. We are running a big company involving 40-50 employees. If you are down it would affect everyone.. I need you to refresh yourself, keep yourself unbothered.. .Now all you need is  a friend to share everything.. Trust me I will be your good friend.. .


Open up to me.. I doubt you have a different intention to send vani there at Rohan - Nivi company...
Prem stared at the waves — beer halfway to his lips.
"It's... complicated."

Nitin — "Try me. We've been working together for a month now. You've been good to me — promotion, trust. Let me return the favor."

Prem sighed — emotional, voice cracking slightly.

"Don't say this out... but I fear infidelity. Nivi... maybe Rohan is pushing her."
Nitin — eyes wide — "Rohan? Her business partner?"

Prem nodded — leaning forward, words tumbling out.

"They go together to Bangalore for 'meetings'. Last time at the ceremony, her saree was adjusted oddly when she came back. She's absent from the office often... we have a kid. I don't know if I should confront her or what?
 If I do, she might say I've been mistrusting her all along... that I'm the problem. But if it's true, I won't stand in this relationship. I'm strong — I won't succumb to betrayal. I'm not someone who can live under one roof just because I had loved her.. dramas…, but I'm a family man first. I built everything for us... I can't lose it to this."
Nitin consoled — hand on Prem's shoulder.

"Maybe you are just overthinking. He is her business partner. 


Prem: I'm just consoling myself with that.. But everything hints at something. Its been months since I touched her… I know i hurted her before.. I disallowed her outside or for anything because there are just leeches who wanted to suck her body.. Rohan always looked different, never once i found his eyes went bad on her.. But that perfection is the thing which bothers me.. Somewhere i could sense a chemistry between them

Nitin quickly said Vani is there — she hasn't said anything bad.

Nitin interjected, is this a reason why you turned all assets under your name ..



Prem said ...precaution is better than cure.. Right? Yes I started mistrusting Nivi.. my instincts are always right?



Nitin responded.. If that is the way i don't think anything is wrong.. What if she is really good and you just overthink?



Prem said better for everyone.. She wont feel wrong about assets being in my name..

Nitin continued i have one more doubt.. Will they name Nivi’s company? I mean the bond and clauses which favors you?



Prem laughed… they had too .. yes if they are in their right mind they won't agree or they will fight. I need to trick them.. 



Nitin said its risky incase if they are innocents they will think you are monster for tricking them 



I will trick them in that way they wont realize the clauses help me.. I  wont take it for my monetary benefit unless they hurt/cheat me..

One more thing.. dont let Vani know all of this.. let me dig into it.. i have reasons.. 

Nithin said i agree , i wont for now..


Nitin further added I need to be careful with you buddy.. your plans are something else...


They laughed.. The topics get diverted into so many things..


They spoke heart out — Prem unburdening, Nitin listening.


Irony while he was consoling Prem... Nitin doesn't know Vani was on her way to Aadhil's guest house.
