Chapter 52 – The Interview & First Cracks


Nivi stood up from the visitor chair — her face lighting up with genuine surprise and joy.
"Vani? Oh my god, is it really you?"

Vani froze for a second — then her eyes widened in recognition.
"Nivi? From the hospital?"

They both laughed — the sound filling the room with warmth.
Nivi rushed forward — pulling Vani into a tight hug.
"Welcome, my girl! I can't believe it's you."

Rohan stood up — "Let's make it official. Nivi, get the appointment order ready."

He left the room — but didn't go far.

His mole in Prem's office had already tipped him off — Vani was the spy.
He lingered near the door — eavesdropping via a small crack, phone ready to record if needed.

Inside — Vani's smile faded slightly.

"Nivi... it's okay even if I don't get in. I have to tell you something."
Nivi — curious — "What is it?"

Vani took a deep breath — "Your husband doubts something here... Prem sent me here to spy on Rohan. Before coming here, my husband said this to me... 'It's a deal — you work there, I get a tech job at Prem's company.' I can't cheat a known person like you. I felt bad when I saw you here... that's why I'm telling you."

Nivi realized the game — her face paling.
She was ditched by Prem — again.
"Prem... sent you to spy?"
Vani nodded — eyes down.

"Yes. He told Nitin that Rohan is taking funds suspiciously. He wants reports on him. But... I couldn't do it. Not to you."

Nivi sat down — processing, she knows prem wont doubt abut funds.. its about his doubt on her affair... hurt flashing in her eyes.
Vani continued — venting, voice rising with frustration.

"And Nitin... he's so selfish. He's never happy about my growth. He only let me take this because it got him his tech job. He doesn't care if I succeed — as long as he's ahead. It's always about him."

Nivi — empathetic — "I know that feeling. Prem... he's the same. He hates when I grow independent. He wants control. " She decided to pin this to growth subject so that her affair wont get exposed immediately. 

Vani — "Exactly. They treat us like we're threats if we shine."
Rohan, outside — hearing every word — smiled darkly.

Perfect. Solidarity against the husbands.

He stepped in — casual.
"I know all along."
Vani and Nivi turned — startled.

Rohan — "My mole there informed me after eavesdropping their conversation... you are sent as a mole here. This job is not given to you by Nitin... it was a deal: 'Prem made a deal with Nitin. Nitin allowed you for his tech job... and Nivi faces same heat... Prem hates Nivi growth — he wants control.'"

Vani & Nivi — shocked — "You knew already?"
Vani further asked still knowing all you offered me position here?

Rohan — "Yes. But now... you're with us as you understand us.."

This flips Vani’s loyalty toward Nivi — solidarity against controlling husbands.

Vani still doesn’t know about the affair.
They departed as Nivi gave her the appointment order.


"Start tomorrow, Vani. We're in this together."

After Vani left, Nivi turned to Rohan.

"We got a trustworthy one. Maybe Aadhil is not necessary."

Rohan said — "No, don't believe so easily as someone says truth... let Aadhil handle her... let's our thing be secret as usual."
He went ahead — closed door, locked it.

All these were get reported by Vani as Nivi asked ... Prem felt happy about normality.. 

In Nivi's absences.. Vani started with Phone & video calls start with aadhil....
