Chapter 45 – The Morning After - The Reassurance
The next morning arrived soft and quiet.
Nivi woke early — before the alarm, before Aara's chatter, before Prem stirred.
She got ready in silence — simple cotton saree, hair tied back, minimal makeup.
She waited for Prem to leave — watched him kiss Aara's forehead, grab his keys, say "See you evening" with a tired smile.
Door clicked shut.
She exhaled — long, steady.
Pulled out her phone.
Messaged Rohan:
Delay 10 mins after Prem leaves. Then let's get started.
Sent.
Heart beat a little faster.
She stepped out exactly 10 minutes later — Prem's car long gone.
Rohan was waiting in the Mercedes — engine idling low, windows tinted.
She slid in — door soft thud.
They drove in silence for the first minute — city waking around them.
Rohan broke it first — voice calm, concerned.
"What was the trouble you were facing yesterday? Why did you took leave?"
Are you feeing unwell, his hand reached her forehead..
Nivi looked out the window — buildings blurring past.
"Nothing..."
Rohan glanced sideways — eyes gentle but firm.
"Nivi... let's be clear. We are not a couple. We are not lovers. We are good friends and become better sexual partners.. We are something like friends with benefits... Don't hide anything from me. Let's be honest with each other."
She turned to him — his profile steady, hands sure on the wheel.
She took a breath.
"I feared some issue... went to the doctor. Nothing worrying. Just a nerve ache due to the impact after sex."
Rohan nodded — no shock, no teasing.
"Let's be careful henceforth — pills, checkups. And don't hide anything from me. Whatever happens, I will take responsibility for you."
That assurance gave her strength and courage — a quiet warmth spreading through her chest.
She looked at him — really looked.
"Thank you."
By the t ime she said thank you the car reached the office.
At office — inside her cabin.
Nivi was confused — she didn't open up to Rohan about what the expectations and boundaries should be in their affair... or whether to stop.
In the car it was just a casual conversation about her absence last day.
Additionally , she wanted to inform him about hiring a subordinate so the business runs smoothly — someone to handle the load.
Suddenly a staff member entered , the woman said, madam a CEO named Aadhil came to meet you yesterday. He waited for a long time and went .. Rohan sir knows it.. I just wanted to inform you..
Who is this? Aadhil? Nivi got surprised. Okay lets ask Rohan
She decided to go inside Rohan's cabin — big CEO room, similar to hers but with more glass, more view.
As she entered, Rohan looked into the files.. As soon as he saw her.. He stood and went near her,, he just passed her with a sly smile and locked the room.
When he came back she almost reached the window — city sprawling below.
He stood behind her, close enough she felt his warmth. He didn't want to tease her sexually but lay a much deeper emotional trap to test.
"What keeps bothering you?" he asked, voice low. "Your face looks pale."
Nivi stared at the road far below — cars like toys, people ants.
"I... I don't know what to do," she whispered.
"Let's stop the drama. This... us... it's too much. I can't keep doing this to Prem."
Rohan didn't move away — his voice stayed calm, steady.
"Stop if that's what you want. But tell me honestly — is it because you feel guilty... or because you're scared of how good that you fear I will try to own you and cause trouble to your marriage?"
She swallowed — eyes stinging.
"Both. I feel like I'm betraying him every time. But when I'm with you... it's like I remember who I used to be. Free. Alive. And I hate that I like it so much."
He placed his hands lightly on her shoulders — not pulling, just resting.
"Then don't stop because of guilt. And I assured many a time, I wont enter into your marriage.. Stop only if it stops feeling right for you. Prem is changing — good. Let him. But you don't have to shrink back to the old version of yourself just to fit his change. You deserve to feel alive too."
She turned her head slightly — his face close.
"But what if it destroys everything?"
Like you said once that you have a fantasy like you want to have sex with me when prem around
Rohan laughs.. No no thats little fantasy no need it has to be real… i just want to feel like im the alpha for you
Nivi asked what Alpha? How do men always shit like these…
Rohan, you will understand it soon.. Anyways to feel like alpha its not necessary i had to do before him.. Like lets do when he is not aware physically or in an atmosphere that make us think we are doing in a place where he is…
Nivi said whatever
"But what if it destroys everything?"
"It won't — as long as we keep it honest between us. No lies, no hiding. We are partners — in business, in this. If you ever want to stop, say it. I'll respect it.
But right now... you're not saying stop because you want to. You're saying it because you think you should."
Nivi's breath hitched — the truth landing heavy.
He stepped closer — arms sliding around her waist from behind, hugging her gently, chest to her back.
"Let's not stop this," he whispered against her ear. "Not yet. Let me show you more... unseen pleasure. Let me remind you who you really are."
His hands slipped under her saree — fingers teasing the skin of her stomach, slow circles inching lower.
Nivi's eyes fluttered — body responding even as mind resisted.
"Rohan..."
"Shhh," he murmured. "Look outside. All those people... they have no idea what's happening right here. And that's okay. This is our world."
His fingers found her entry — gentle pressure over fabric, teasing until wetness soaked through.
She moaned softly — small, involuntary sound escaping.
The people who ride on the road — if they quickly look up at the top of the building — they can witness sexual display of two.
Nivi forgets where she is — head falling back against his shoulder, moans a little louder.
She suddenly realised — turned back sharply.
Saw Rohan lick his fingers — glistening with her leaks.
She felt shy — face burning.
Rohan stopped her — gentle grip on wrist.
"Let's go."
She was unsure where.
20 minutes later the car reached their house — Rohan's penthouse.
The next morning arrived soft and quiet.
