The next morning, Kamal made a huge pot of coffee and sat there at the kitchen table drinking cup after cup,
thinking. In the cool morning sunlight, the events of the night before seemed insane. Had he really
encouraged his wife to flirt with...seduce another man?! Had he really sat there and watched him kiss her and
grope her... even near finger her, if she hadn’t stopped him, other men would have started a fight over it, but
he’d got off on it.
Kamal didn’t know what was wrong with him. He knew that he liked the idea of seeing her with other men.
The idea of it. Not the reality. And yet, last night he’d come close to making it all come true.
His fantasies were a hair’s breadth away from getting both of them into deep, deep trouble. Athidi was on
that island for almost another two weeks, and now she had to work with a guy she’d had a fling with. He’d
put her into an incredibly awkward situation, and he felt awful.
Although...she had enjoyed it. Kamal felt his guts tighten. The way she’d described how Rahul kissed her, how
his hands had felt on her... as if she didn’t know that it drove him crazy. Or maybe she really thought that
Kamal enjoyed that part—being compared to other, stronger men.
He sighed and ran his hands through his hair. He was frustrated with the constant tussle between two
contrasting feelings he was having. He was torn between his dark desires, fantasies and rational (good)
thinking.
He felt like one was overwhelming the other.
He was willing to corrupt his sweet, lovely wife and jeopardise the
future of their relationship, their marriage. ‘This had to stop, and stop now.’ He said to himself firmly.
Kamal moved through to the lounge and noticed something on the laptop. He’d got into the habit of leaving
it on, in case Athidi called, and there was a “New Email” indicator flashing. He clicked it.
Kamal,
Thank you for being so honest. I think it’s great that we’re finally opening up to each other and thank you for
being so clear about what you want. I’m going to have to think about it, but I’ll call you tonight. Sorry to hear
about the camera—I was looking forward to seeing you and talking to you, but text chat will be nearly as
good. And you can still watch me!
