When they finally pulled back, Priya’s hand lingered on his face for just a second longer. Their eyes met, both understanding without words that the connection had been made, that there was no turning back from this.
The bond between them was no longer hidden, no longer a whisper in the dark—it was out in the open, raw and real.
"Pleas get changed, we will have time." Priya said quietly, her voice shaky but resolute. She turned away, moving toward the couch, trying to collect herself, though the air between them still vibrated with everything they had just shared.
Ravi stood frozen for a moment, his heart still racing, before he reluctantly stepped back, retreating to his room to change, knowing he couldn’t stay in the same space much longer.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke. They simply stood there, both feeling the loss of the other’s warmth. The weight of the moment lingered, but the reality of the situation was unavoidable.
Ravi, still trying to catch his breath, his hand running through his hair in a quick, almost frustrated motion. "I’ll... I’ll change, Didi" he murmured, his voice thick with desire and regret.
Without another word, he turned and walked toward his room, the need to put distance between them, however brief, pressing on him.
Priya stood there for a moment longer, trying to compose herself, her heart still racing. She moved slowly to the living room couch, her fingers nervously reaching for the remote. She switched on the TV, though she wasn’t really watching.
The soft hum of the television filled the space, a stark contrast to the intensity that had just passed between them. She could still feel the heat of his body, the memory of his lips on hers, the feel of his hands on her back.
It was overwhelming, and yet she knew she had to act like nothing had happened.
“I should have stopped. I should have pulled away earlier...” Priya’s mind was a flurry of confusion and desire. But she couldn’t bring herself to regret it, not really.
She knew this was dangerous, knew that it was wrong in so many ways, but the pull toward Ravi was undeniable.
The sound of the bathroom door creaking open echoed through the apartment, breaking her thoughts. Amit’s footsteps followed as he began moving around in the bathroom, getting dressed.
Priya quickly tried to settle into the sofa, forcing a calm expression, trying to settle the chaos inside her. She grabbed a cushion, hugged it to her chest for a moment, trying to steady her breathing.
Her mind still buzzed with the memory of Ravi’s touch, of the kisses that had felt like they would never end. But now, the reality of the situation felt sharp.
Amit would be out soon, and the world they had created, that fragile bubble of intimacy, would pop.
