He blew a gentle stream of air onto her lips, so deliberate and close that the low-pressure pull created by Bernoulli’s principle seemed to draw her toward him.
A thrill raced down her spine, every sense heightened, and time seemed to stretch as they hovered on the edge of the kiss.
He felt like Bernoulli’s principle was pulling her closer.
Her breath mingled with his. A shiver. A tremble.
A heartbeat stretched. Her cheek brushed his. Her hair brushed his face.
“God. What is happening to me?”
A soft gasp escaped her lips. She didn’t try to hide it. She couldn’t.
“I’m falling. God, I’m falling into him and I can’t stop myself… I don’t know what is happening to me. It is very dangerous… If Amit turns his head slightest… He will know everything… God, please stop this…”
Ravi exhaled slowly, fingers lightly resting near hers, his forehead pressed to her temple.
His heart hammered, his breath trembling, as if every second they shared pulled him deeper into something he didn’t know how to stop.
“I want more. I can’t. I won’t. But I can’t stop wanting her.”
Her mind spun.
“This is insane. I’m letting him… and I don’t want to… I can’t… but I can’t move away either.”
Another soft brush of his hand. Fingers just touching hers. Her tremor responded, her chest rising, her lips parting.
She wanted to cry.
To laugh.
To scream.
To melt into him.
Ravi’s lips hovered near hers parted lips again.
Soft.
Gentle.
A brush.
A whisper.
A sweet kiss.
She leaned just slightly. A tiny move. Almost imperceptible.
“I’m falling. God… I’m falling into him and I can’t stop myself.”
Her fingers intertwined slightly with his.
A spark.
A jolt.
A silent confession.
“Stop… but don’t stop… I can’t… I won’t… but I can’t help it.”
He rested his head on her shoulder again,
Soft.
Tentative.
Trembling.
Not claiming. Just needing.
Her cheek against his hair.
Her breath warm.
Her heart racing.
Her mind spinning.
The movie roared on, oblivious. The theater darkened further.
The world shrank.
Just them.
Just now.
Just desire and fear.
“I’m lost… and I’m not moving away… and I can’t stop wanting him.”
Ravi’s fingers brushed hers again. Her hand trembled. She leaned just slightly. The tiniest motion.
“God… what is happening to me?”
He pressed his forehead lightly against hers.
A breath.
A heartbeat.
Just a whisper.
Her lips tingled.
Her fingers shook.
Her body leaned.
Her mind resisted.
“I can’t… I shouldn’t… but…”
The theater darkened further. The screen flickered. Every heartbeat stretched. Every breath a confession.
They stayed suspended.
Between longing and restraint.
Between fear and surrender.
Between what was safe and what they wanted.
And neither moved.
Neither spoke.
Both trembling.
Both aching.
Both knew the danger is right next to them.
Both lost in the moment that felt like forever.
