Scene 26: The Warm Fifth Night (Fifth Day: Night)
The sky outside had turned a deep violet, and the air was unusually calm after days of restless wind. Inside the little hut, the fire burned softly in a pit Naveen had ringed with stones earlier that evening.
The smoke rose gently toward the narrow vent near the roof, carrying the scent of charred wood and sea salt. The warmth from the fire wrapped around them, filling the small space with a sense of peace, a shelter against the vast, uncertain world outside.
For the first time since they had been stranded, the space felt truly warm. The flickering fire painted golden strokes on the walls and on their faces, casting soft shadows that seemed to move like the quiet rise and fall of their breath.
