The next morning, Riya was dressed in a simple cotton suit.
No loud colours, no heavy jewellery.
She looked like a sad, plain girl going to seek something supernatural.

Rohan came down, looking tired but determined.

Rohan: "Ready, Riya? It’s a long drive to the hills."

Riya: "Ready as I'll ever be, Rohan. Let's go get this blessing bullshit over with."

The Mercedes slowly left the city roads and hit the dusty, bumpy tracks leading into the mountains.

The journey was long and quiet. The car was taking them away from doctors and reports, towards faith and maybe, just maybe, a miracle.

Riya looked out the window. She felt a knot of nervousness tightening her stomach, but a spark of excitement flickered in her heart. What if Biji was right? What if this crazy Baba could actually do something?

Rohan kept his eyes fixed on the road, his face set like stone. After an hour, he finally spoke, his voice low.

Rohan: "Listen, Riya. I know this sounds mad. But we've tried everything. Just... just do what Baba Ji says, okay? Don't argue. Don't think too much."

He quickly reached over and took her hand. His palm was rough and warm.
It was the first proper touch she had felt from him in weeks. A small, electric jolt ran up Riya’s arm.

Rohan: "This is... this is our last chance, Riya. For us. For everything."
Riya squeezed his hand back. She didn't feel the desire now, only a deep sense of connection, of shared desperation. They were in this shit together.

Riya: "I know, Rohan. I'll be good. I'll do whatever it takes."
