Anushka looks at the box. She is not crying anymore.
She is cold.
She opens it. Inside is a heavy gold necklace with diamonds. It is very expensive.

Rajiv: (He tries to smile, desperate for her to be happy) Do you like it? It cost a lot of money. I... I know you wanted one like this.

Anushka: (Her voice is flat, empty) It is very beautiful, Rajiv. Thank you.
She closes the box.
She puts it on the table next to her.
She does not put the necklace on. She does not smile.

Anushka: (She turns back to her magazine) I will wear it for some party.
