	Update 35
Nithi: I knew guys would be crazy for you. I also observed that you did not have any objections to their touches.
Sukanya: (Mind voice) What? I had no objections?
She then again thought that she did not show signs of discomfort.
Nithi: Then I noticed one guy took it too far. I myself felt so angry, but your face said that you did not like it.
Sukanya: So, you slapped him. Right?
Nithi: No. I slapped someone else.
Sukanya: What?
Nithi: Yeah. The one I slapped had touched you, but his touches did not make you uncomfortable.
Sukanya: Really? Then who was that bastard? (She said in spurt of emotion)
Nithi: (smiled at her explosion.) It was someone from our class.
Sukanya: From our class? I can’t believe it.
She was thinking of only Praveen, but she never thought he could have done something like that.
Nithi: It was actually… Shiva.
She was shocked, but glad that she did not name Praveen.
Sukanya: I don’t believe it. He’s a decent guy.
Nithi: Forget about what he did. What gave you an impression that Shiva is a decent guy? He is one of the worst kind of rogues you can find.
Sukanya: What are you saying?
Nithi: I’m surprised it sounds unbelievable to you.
She took her mobile and scrolled through her gallery. She picked a photo and showed it to her. Sukanya could not believe what she saw. In one of the selfies Nithi took, the scene was caught on camera. She saw that Shiva stealthily stood behind her and had his hands on her ass. She was still in shock. She was shocked and nervous. She tried to maintain composure.
Sukanya: My bad that I trusted him. Leave that rogue.
Sukanya: (after a pause) But how did you judge that I did not have objection when some guy touches me? (acting angry)
Nithi: Not like that dear. Every woman, especially beautiful women, face this every day. We endure them without a choice. While going to market, in a fair, at the theatre, in the bus. Men would throng women like flies and try to touch as much as they can. You might as well have faced some.
At the very mention of theatre and bus, her mind subconsciously drifted to her past experience. She had a mixed feeling. Theatre experience was voluntary acts and she enjoyed them, but the bus act was a bad memory for her. She shuddered at the thought.
Nithi: I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to embarrass you. But I faced a lot like that. I used to be angry and frustrated in the beginning, but when I realized that it’s inevitable, I began to enjoy it. It was no longer frustrating.
Sukanya: What? You also faced it? I mean you faced it?
Nithi laughed at her desperate correction.
Nithi: Yes. A lot.
She gave a mock sad face.
Sukanya: You said you enjoyed it and acting sad. (tauntingly)
Nithi: Just like you did when Praveen was getting cozy with you in the pool? (she winked)
Sukanya: Wha… What? What non-sense are you talking about?
Nithi: About something that happened in the wave pool baby.
Sukanya: Nothing happened there. You don’t make any stories, understand. (Little frustrated)
Nithi: I didn’t mean to piss you off. Let’s leave it.
When she felt that Nithi felt offended by her reaction, she felt bad, but could not mend it as she was herself embarrassed to discuss the topic. Then again, she thought that she mocked her situation, but she could not take the same from her. They did not talk anything for the next 30 minutes. Sukanya observed that Nithi was holding her head. She was looking for something in her handbag. She took out a Dolo and swallowed it. She was looking for water, Sukanya grabbed a bottle, but she picked a jug on the table and gulped some water. Then, without a word, she laid on her side of the bed, and tried to sleep. Sukanya wanted to talk to her, but she shut her eyes. Sukanya felt guilty. If she should feel angry about some comments on her, she should not have taken the freedom to do the same to her. But again, she remembered how much she cared for her when she recalled the incident at the rain dance. She felt miserable. She went and sat beside her, but she did not move. She also laid down on her side of the bed. She did not want to disturb her. But she wanted to talk to someone. She took her mobile and picked Meena’s number, but she knew that she might be busy at that time. She picked her husband’s number and pinged him. She shared all the updates about her trip, with the exception of the incidents at the rain dance and the pool. She did not receive any response as he was offline. She put the phone down. Just then she heard continuous beeps. She took her mobile, but it was not her phone. She looked at the table to notice the backlight of Nithi’s phone on. She ignored it, but her phone kept pinging. She felt it could be an excuse to talk to her. She put her hand on her arm and shook her gently. Nithi, who was sleeping on her side, facing away from Sukanya, mildly moved and laid on her back, facing the ceiling. She slowly opened her eyes.
Sukanya: Are you alright?
Nithi: I’m fine. Just that I got soaked in water, I feel a little heavy headed.
She said that without looking at her. Sukanya understood that she was annoyed with her.
Sukanya: Hey, look. Your phone is buzzing with messages. Thought it could be something important.
Nithi: Ah! Nothing important. Leave it.
Sukanya hesitated for some time.
Sukanya: I know I hurt you. I’m sorry dear. I didn’t mean to. My reaction was spontaneous.
Nithi: I know you didn’t mean to hurt you. You know why I don’t have many friends? Because I speak something without knowing if it hurts the other person.
Sukanya: No, no, not at all. You are perfectly fine. Mistake is mine.
Nithi: You are only trying to pacify me. I do not know what to talk and what to not.
Sukanya: You spoke nothing wrong. Just that the topic was unexpected, so I reacted like that.
After a thought.
Sukanya: Let me tell you a secret. I enjoy such talk. But I have never spoken like that with anyone.
Sukanya always wanted to have one person with whom she can freely talk. Meena was a good friend, but she was not as open with her as she wishes to be. Maybe because she was close to the family. With Nithi, she did not think that would be a problem. Moreover, she trusted her.
Nithi: Thank you Sukanya. You are very kind.
Sukanya felt that she somehow felt that she was only trying to pacify her as she was hurt. She wanted to convince her that her comments were from her heart.
Sukanya: You thank me later, but pick the phone and respond to the messages. Your secret boyfriend must be dying to talk to you.
Nithi wholeheartedly laughed.
Nithi: We should not let someone die right. (said with a laugh and wink)
Sukanya: I’ll get the phone for you.
She quickly got off the bed and picked her phone. She walked to her and handed her the phone.
Sukanya: If you want, I can go outside for some time. You can chat FREELY with him. (with a wink)
Nithi laughed at her reference. She held Sukanya’s hand and made her to sit.
Nithi: You have seen much more than that. And by the way, no FREE chat now. I’ll just quickly finish the chat. I don’t feel like chatting.
Sukanya: As you wish dear.
She put on her earphones, sat on the bed and watched reels on her mobile while Nithi chatted with Vijay. After around 30 minutes she saw Nithi lock the phone and put it on the bedside table.
Sukanya: Had fun?
Nithi: Not much.
Sukanya: You chatted for 30 minutes, and you say, not much.
Nithi opened her WhatsApp and gave her phone to her.
Nithi: You can read the chat if you want.
Sukanya: Stupid, why would I read your chat. Just asked what you chatted.
Nithi: Nothing much dear. He was talking about the pool incident.
Sukanya: What? He saw?
Nithi: Hahaha… He was not talking about your romance dear, but ours. (as soon as she spoke that, she bit her tongue)
Nithi: Sorry dear, slip of tongue. (Worried if she would have mistaken her)
Sukanya: Hahaha… Very funny. It was not romance. It was an accident.
Nithi: (convinced that she is cool) Few accidents feel good.
Sukanya: Shut up. By the way, you had fun in the pool huh?
Nithi: Why should you have all the fun.
Sukanya pounced on her and held her neck playfully, and beating her.
Sukanya: You really have a loose tongue. (Jokingly)
Just then Sukanya received a message notification. She wondered who it could be. If it was her husband, no issue. If it was Meena, not a big problem. If it was Praveen, she feared if he would refer to her as Juliet like he always would. She took her phone and looked at the screen in such a way that it is not visible to Nithi. Before she could see who sent the message,
Nithi: Message from your boyfriend?
Sukanya: (Turning towards her) I’m really going to kill you. (Jokingly)
Nithi: If you want, I can go outside for some time. You can chat FREELY with him. (with a wink)
She repeated Sukanya’s words to taunt her. But without her knowledge she mentioned FREELY, which literally meant that she can chat with him nude. She had already chatted FREELY with him before, although he didn’t know that. The memory made her blush, but she tried to hide it. She did not object her comment. In an impulsive attempt to prove that there is nothing to hide, she gave the mobile to Nithi.
Sukanya: I don’t know who messaged, but you can read the message and tell me what the message is.
Immediately she panicked.
She was very confident that he would not send any outrageous messages, but again she was scared if he would call her Juliet. It would give a misconception to her. But it’s beyond her hands now as the phone is now in Nithi’s hands. She gleefully accepted and quickly opened WhatsApp.
Nithi: (She started reading the messages) Hey Sweetheart…
Sukanya’s heart skipped a beat. She knew he never used such words. Maybe he took the liberty after today’s incident? She wondered while Nithi continued.
