So I am a 35 year old housewife staying in Pune. I got married at the very young age of 21 and have been married for over 13 years now. I have a daughter who is 12. I stay with my husband, my in-laws and my daughter in Pune. I come from a very conservative Maharashtrian family. My husband is a weak, pathetic man who lost interest in sex a long time ago. For him, I am just a maid who is there to cook, clean and take care of his parents. So that should give you an idea of our married life. Now coming to my husband, he had only done his graduation in commerce and nothing else. He had joined a pvt. Bank at a lower grade. He never did his MBA and these young people who do their MBA would get a higher grade than him. This used to always affect him mentally. I mean, right now he is 37 years old and his manager is a 27-year-old. This used to always hurt his ego.
So this boss was harassing my husband. Also, my husband was not able to do his job properly. I mean, in his team, they were all these people who were much younger to him. They were between the age of 25 to 30. Only he was now 35+ and he had not yet got a promotion because you know he had not done his MBA. The young guys were able to outperform him and he was left behind. So his boss put him on a PIP. My husband told me It was a performance improvement plan. And he was supposed to achieve certain targets then in 3 months. Needless to say, he did not achieve his targets, and he was put on notice period. He tried getting a job elsewhere, but you know, nothing was happening. He was already 35+, and other banks were looking to hire younger people for his position. So we were in kind of a bad situation. We had our finances and EMI’s to take care of.
