Scene 11: The Arrangement
Jeevan pushed open the double doors. The room was massive, dominated by a huge king-sized bed decorated with flowers for the suhagraat. Along one wall were several large, built-in wardrobes.
Jeevan: "My men are bringing all your clothes, your accessories and other items that you use daily in your life. These are the almirahs... 4 in total, 2 for Sukhmani, 2 for Preet." Mere aadmi tumhare saare kapde, tumhari accessories aur tumhari roz ki zaroorat ka saara samaan la rahe hain. Yeh almirah hain... total 4, 2 Sukhmani ke liye, 2 Preet ke liye.
Sukhmani: "Where is your almirah?" Tumhari almirah kahan hai?
Jeevan: "Mine is in the other bedroom, it is also my work room. We have a common washroom which has 2 doors, one door from my work room and one door from this master bedroom." Meri almirah doosre bedroom mein hai, woh mera kaam karne ka kamra bhi hai. Hamara ek common washroom hai jiske 2 darwaze hain, ek darwaza mere kaam wale kamre se aur ek darwaza is master bedroom se.
Sukhmani looked at the king-sized bed. It was big, but not for three adults.
Sukhmani: "Will we 3 sleep together on this bed? Isn't it going to be small?" Kya hum teeno is bistar par ek saath soyenge? Yeh chota nahi padega?
Jeevan: "I will have a new, custom-made bed made for us by next week. For this week, we will have to manage." Main agle hafte tak humare liye ek naya, custom-made bed banwa doonga. Is hafte ke liye, humein manage karna padega.
Sukhmani: "I meant, how we will sleep? Who will sleep where?" Mera matlab tha, hum soyenge kaise? Kaun kahan soyega?
Jeevan: (Smiling) "That is a very good question, Sukhmani. The arrangement is simple. I will sleep in the middle. My two wives will sleep on either side of me." Yeh bahut accha sawaal hai, Sukhmani. Intezaam bahut saral hai. Main beech mein sounga. Meri dono patniyan mere dono taraf soyengi.
Preet: (Whispering) "No..." Nahi...
Jeevan: "Preet on the left, and you, my dear Sukhmani, on the right. Just like in the mandap. Perfectly balanced. Now, go. Freshen up. I will be back in 15 minutes. Be ready for me. Both of you." Preet baayi taraf, aur tum, meri pyaari Sukhmani, daayi taraf. Bilkul mandap ki tarah. Ekdum santulit. Ab, jao. Fresh ho jao. Main 15 minute mein wapis aaunga. Mere liye taiyaar rehna. Tum dono.
