Scene 10: The Golden Cage
Jeevan led them inside. The farmhouse was stunning—all polished wood, plush carpets, and vast windows looking out onto a dark, manicured lawn. His voice, once hard as iron, was now smooth and warm, like honey.
Jeevan: "Welcome to your new home. Our home. Isn't it beautiful? I had this place built for a family." Aapka apne naye ghar mein swagat hai. Hamara ghar. Sundar hai na? Maine yeh jagah ek parivar ke liye banwayi thi.
He smiled, a charming, genuine smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. He gestured to the large, open-plan kitchen.
Jeevan: "This is the heart of the house. Sukhmani, you seem like someone who knows her way around a kitchen. You will manage the house. The staff, the meals... you will be the badi bahu, the elder mistress." Yeh is ghar ka dil hai. Sukhmani, tum aisi lagti ho jise kitchen ki acchi samajh hai. Tum ghar sambhalogi. Staff, khaana... tum [i]badi bahu, badi malkin banogi.

Sukhmani: "And Preet?" Aur Preet?
Jeevan: "Ah, Preet." (He smiled gently at the younger sister). "Preet will learn from you. She will take care of... me. Of our personal needs. And, of course, she will assist you in everything." Ah, Preet. Preet tumse seekhegi. Woh... mera khayal rakhegi. Hamari zarooraton ka. Aur, baki sab cheezon mein woh tumhari madad karegi.
Preet: (Looking down, blushing slightly) "Ji... as you say." Ji... jaisa aap kahein.
Sukhmani: "Just an hour ago, you were a monster. Now you are acting like a loving husband. Which one is real, Jeevan?" Bas ek ghanta pehle, tum ek rakshas the. Ab tum ek pyaar karne wale pati ki tarah bartav kar rahe ho. Inmein se asli kaun hai, Jeevan?
Jeevan: "Both are real, my love. I am a monster to my enemies. But I am a loving, generous husband to my wives... as long as they are loyal and obedient. You see, I am a very simple man." Dono hi asli hain, meri jaan. Main apne dushmanon ke liye ek rakshas hoon. Lekin main apni patniyon ke liye ek pyaar karne wala, dil-daar pati hoon... jab tak woh wafadaar aur aagyakari rehti hain. Dekho, main bahut hi saral aadmi hoon.
He led them down a wide hallway, stopping at a set of large double doors.
Jeevan: "You give me your complete devotion, and I will give you a life of luxury you've only dreamed of. No more worries about your father's debts. No more useless husbands like Rohan. Just this. Just us." Tum mujhe apni poori shradha do, aur main tumhein aisho-araam ki woh zindagi doonga jiske tumne sirf sapne dekhe hain. Ab tumhare pitaji ke karzon ki koi chinta nahi. Rohan jaise bekaar pati aur nahi. Bas yeh. Bas hum.
Jeevan: "And it all starts tonight. This is our room. The master bedroom. Everything we need is inside." Aur yeh sab aaj raat se shuru hota hai. Yeh hamara kamra hai. Master bedroom. Humein jis bhi cheez ki zaroorat hai, woh andar hai.
