## Update 41: The Weekend Preparations and the Family Agreement (Avi and Chacha/Bua/Chachi)

Today is Sunday. The date brought back a flash of memory: last Sunday, when I had that unforgettable final sex session with Madam and she left forever. But today, the focus was entirely on the house, as I had a lot of work to do helping with preparations because tomorrow, Chacha and Chachis are leaving for the village. It was a notable event; it was the first time Chacha was taking all three of my Chachis somewhere outside the village, signifying his serious, if skeptical, commitment to finding a blessing.

To ensure my care, Chacha summoned his three sisters: Pooja Bua, Neha Bua, and Neeta Bua. Chacha, being the younger brother, always calls his sisters by their first names. I have never heard him call them "didi" (elder sister).

Pooja Bua started the conversation, direct and impatient, folding her arms. "What's the matter, *bhai*? You called all three of us at once."

Chacha replied, rubbing his hands together nervously. "I wanted to talk to you about the trip."

Pooja Bua insisted, tapping her foot lightly. "Tell us what it is, quickly."

"Avi's Chachis and I are going to a remote village for a week," Chacha announced.

"Whose village are you going to? A relative's?" Pooja Bua asked, frowning.

Chacha explained, clearly embarrassed but hopeful, looking at the floor. "Avi's Chachis found out about a maharaj whose blessings are supposed to give people children."

Pooja Bua's voice rose in frustration and annoyance. "These maharaj people are absolute frauds. Don't you understand how many people they cheat?"

Chacha defended his decision, his shoulders slumping slightly. "I know, but I'll go and see one last time. I owe it to them."

Neha Bua said, resting a hand gently on her sister's arm, trying to calm her more volatile sister. "Let it go, didi. If he wants to go, let him. Don't worry about it."

Pooja Bua asked, getting straight to the point, her gaze sharp. "Why did you call us here, then? What is your actual need?"

Chacha explained, repeating the lie that had been devised. "We're not taking Avi with us, as the Maharaj's ritual only allows the couple."

Pooja Bua asked, her face showing concern about the sudden responsibility. "Where will he stay for a whole week?"

Chacha laid out the plan, counting on his fingers. "I thought he could sleep at your house for a week. And he'll stay here at our house all day to look after the property. He can make his own lunch here. He'll just come to your house for dinner and to sleep."

Pooja Bua asked, her eyes wide with disbelief at the imposition on her strict routine. "What? He'll come to my place every night?"

"It's just for one week, Pooja," Chacha said, pleading.

She thought for a long moment, weighing the inconvenience against her duty to her brother. She finally conceded, sighing reluctantly. "Okay."

Neha Bua added quickly, seizing the opportunity to ensure her daughter's studies continued uninterrupted. "And in the afternoon, he'll come to my place for two hours to study with Komal." (If my daughter's study problem wasn't there, I wouldn't even let him come near the house, I heard her mind voice).

Chacha agreed, nodding. "Yes, that'll be good. That way, he won't be bored."

Pooja Bua stipulated, setting the boundary clearly and pointing a finger at her brother. "Okay. only for one week right?."

"Yes," Chacha confirmed immediately.

Meanwhile, Neeta Bua was talking separately to my Chachis, showing more warmth and understanding.

Neeta Bua asked, her expression gentle. "When are you all leaving?"

Suman Chachi said, adjusting her shawl. "Tomorrow morning."

Neeta Bua said kindly, her hands clasped together. "I pray that God wills it, and your wish will finally be fulfilled this time."

Suman Chachi said, her voice full of genuine concern for her co-wives, glancing at Seema Chachi and Meena Chachi. "For me, Avi is everything. I'm just thinking about Seema and Meena and their chance to have a child."

"Speaking of Avi, is he also going with you for the week?" Neeta Bua asked.

Suman Chachi said, shaking her head. "No, he'll stay here. He'll be at Pooja's house at night."

Neeta Bua explained her own inability to help, her voice low. "I would have kept him, but you know how Pooja Didi is about things changing. If she finds out that you kept Avi with me, she'll get angry and feel slighted. And even if you asked her directly to keep Avi with her, she would have gotten angry about the imposition."

Suman Chachi said, relieved. "Yes, I know. That's why I told Avi's Chacha to talk to Pooja directly. It's safer that way."

Neeta Bua promised warmly. "That's a good thing you did. I'll also check on him every day and take care of him."

Suman Chachi said, a small, grateful smile on her face. "I know. Even without me saying it, you would take care of Avi. You always do."
