Her heels clicked against the polished floor as she made her way to the conference room. Inside, Tim, Horizon Tech’s CEO, sharp and intense in his late 40s, pacing near the head of the table, flanked by two stern-faced lawyers in crisp suits. 

Madhuri cleared her throat, stepping forward. “Mr. Tim, I’m Madhuri, senior consultant. I understand there’s been a serious mistake, and I’m here to address it.”

Tim looked up, his eyes narrowing, his American accent clipped. “Address it? Your team leaked our entire strategy to a competitor. We’re talking millions in potential losses, not to mention a lawsuit that’ll bury this firm.”

Madhuri held his gaze, her voice calm but firm. “I understand your anger Mr. Tim, and you have every right to be upset. But let’s focus on solutions.”

A guy from the legal team stood abruptly, sliding a folder across the table. “This,” he said, his voice sharp, “is evidence of your firm’s negligence. Our strategy document, leaked to Apex Solutions. Their latest campaign mirrored our customer segments and discounts exactly. Can you explain?”

Madhuri replied, “The document was sent in error, and we’re prepared to take immediate steps to contain the damage, secure Apex’s cooperation, destroy the email, and implement stricter controls to ensure this never happens again.” her voice feigning confidence. “Can we discuss a path forward?”
