Menaka had returned to Rajpura from her maternal home. After waking up in the morning, she went down to the kitchen to talk to the cook.
"Namaskar, Kunwarni ji." Maitripatel's Creation.
"Namaskar, Khansama sahab. Decide today's menu."
"Kunwarni ji, Raja sahab had given the order for breakfast last night before you came back. You give us the order for the rest of the meals."
After deciding the rest of the menu, when Menaka saw the breakfast menu, she was pleasantly surprised. Her father-in-law had ordered to prepare only the things of her choice. Then an idea came to her mind.
"Khansama sahab, tell us in detail about father's likes and dislikes and also whether he has to abstain from any food due to medical reasons!"
After some time, the menu was revised.
After breakfast, both father and son went to office and Maneka started understanding the whole system of the palace. There were servants for every work. They also knew what they had to do. By evening Maneka understood the whole system and also explained some new things to the entire staff.
At dinner, Raja Sahib jumped with joy. Only his favourite things were on the table.
"Khansama Sahib, how did you become so kind to us today, brother?"
"Maharaj. We have made all this on the request of Kunwarni Sahiba."
"Dulhan, how did you come to know about our liking?"
"Like you came to know about our liking." Maneka replied and both of them laughed. Maitri's Creation.
It was 7 o'clock in the evening, it was getting dark when after leaving Rajpura, that grey coloured Land Cruise left the highway after 5 minutes and started moving on a narrow road and after 5 minutes it stopped near some huts. The driver's side window went down 4 inches and a 50 rupee note came out which was quickly caught by the tribal who had come running after seeing the car. In return, he gave a small bottle inside the car.
Then the grey coloured Land Cruiser with dark black glasses started to return. The car stopped a little before the highway. Vishwajeet, who was sitting inside, opened the bottle and put it to his mouth. When the cheap liquor went down his throat, he felt a burning sensation but he found solace in this burning sensation.
The son of King Yashveer, the future king, the owner of immense wealth, could drink the most expensive liquor in the world, but he found peace in the 50 rupees liquor made at home by the tribals. Indeed, man is God's strangest invention.
Vishwa remembered the day when he had come here while roaming with his elder brother and they had learnt to catch wild rabbits from these tribals. As soon as he remembered his deceased brother, his eyes filled with tears.
"Why did you go brother? Why? You went and I was left here alone amidst all these troubles. You knew how much I disliked this business and living like a king. Still you left me." Vishwa mumbled and took another sip.
"Dignity, pride.. Dignity! This is all that is left in my life. When we go, keep in mind which family we belong to, when we talk, keep in mind what our dignity is... even if we get married... huh." Maitripatel's Creation.
