The playful edge in her voice did nothing to lessen the tension in the room. It only made it sharper, more charged.
"Now," Neetu said, her eyes glinting with excitement, "heads for Ravi, tails for Sirisha."
She tossed the coin into the air with a flick of her wrist.
It spun lazily, rising higher, catching the daylight as it twirled through the air. Time slowed as they watched it hover above them, a moment suspended in midair.
Then, the coin descended, the sound of its arc almost deafening in the thick silence. It landed on the plush rug with a soft thud.
The moment stretched out, and the world seemed to hold its breath.
Neetu’s eyes flicked to the coin. Her lips curled in anticipation as she leaned forward, eyes flicking between Ravi and Sirisha. "Let’s see what fate has in store for us."
Ravi's grin was wide, yet there was something in his gaze, uncertain, a flicker of nerves he couldn’t entirely suppress.
Sirisha, standing between them, felt her heart race in her chest. It was surreal to be here, caught in this strange, seductive dance, but every moment, every second, felt like an eternity.
Neetu looked at the coin. "Tails," she whispered, her breath cool against Sirisha’s ear, before leaning back and handing it to Ravi, a sly smile dancing across her lips.
Sirisha’s heart skipped a beat. Tails. She had won.
There was no hiding the surprise on her face. She didn’t expect this, yet somehow, the sense of excitement flooded her veins.
The game was only just beginning, and yet it already felt like they were all crossing boundaries they’d never imagined.
Ravi’s lips pressed together in a tight smile, his eyes shifting toward Sirisha, the weight of the game settling in. His hand brushed the back of her arm lightly, as if to steady her, though his touch lingered longer than necessary. His gaze, full of unspoken desire and tension, didn’t leave her face.
"Looks like you’re in control now," he said, his voice low, almost too quiet. But there was an edge of something else in it, something that suggested that while Sirisha had won this round, the stakes had only grown higher.
Neetu tilted her head, her eyes smoldering as she spoke, her voice soft and silky. "Shall we continue, then?"
The light flickered in their eyes, and Sirisha nodded, her breath catching in her throat. "Yes," she whispered, barely louder than a breath.
The game had only just begun. And the air between them was thick with anticipation, the next step already pulling them closer to something unknown, something they weren’t yet ready for, but couldn’t resist.
