Act 3.2 - Urge at sckool
================

(The college day is over. The staffroom is mostly empty, filled with the quiet hum of the ceiling fan. Kavita, dressed elegantly in her salwar suit, lingers, pretending to organize some papers. Rajan, the Maths teacher, is finishing corrections at his desk, his focus absolute.)

Kavita (smiling, leaning against his desk): "Rajan ji, you're always so serious... I think all those numbers have forgotten how to make you smile."

Rajan (chuckles lightly, looking up from his papers): "Numbers are serious things, Kavita ji. Half the college's work would stop without them. Looking at you, though, I imagine the Language department is always full of laughter."

Kavita (tilting her head, a playful glint in her eye): "Oh... we have our fun sometimes. But I find it's much more fun talking to you... maybe that's why I always find myself sitting near you."

Rajan (smiling politely, his eyes returning to his papers): "It's good... to have friends in the staffroom. But Kavita ji, you're staying quite late today... won't you be late getting home?"

Kavita (lowers her voice, leaning a little closer): "I am getting late... but with some people, you don't even realize how the time is passing."

Rajan (clears his throat, a hint of discomfort in his eyes): "Hmm... I understand. Well, I really must complete these copies now. There's a class test tomorrow."

Kavita (a soft laugh, as she brushes a strand of hair from her face): "Rajan ji, sometimes tests aren't just for the students. Sometimes, teachers have to pass them too... and I get the feeling you always pass."

Rajan (raising his eyebrows, surprised by her directness): "What is that supposed to mean? You're in quite a naughty mood today."

Kavita (taking a step closer, her voice dropping to a seductive whisper): "Not naughty... I just feel that sometimes, a person should say what's in their heart."

(Rajan tries to focus on his notebook, but Kavita slowly places her hand on his shoulder. He freezes. The room feels silent and still.)

Rajan: "Kavita ji... what are you doing?"

Kavita: "I'm just resting my hand. Is that against the rules? Your shoulders are so tense. All that math... it must be exhausting."

(Her fingers begin to gently massage his shoulder muscle. He flinches slightly.)

Rajan: "I don't think this is appropriate. We're colleagues."

Kavita (leaning in, her lips near his ear): "And colleagues can't be friendly? I see the way you look at me sometimes, Rajan. When you think no one is watching. You're not just looking at a colleague."

Rajan: "I... I don't know what you're talking about. You're a married woman."

Kavita: "And you're a single man. Is it a crime to appreciate beauty? To feel a connection?"

Rajan: "This is not a 'connection'. This is... you should go home to your husband."

Kavita (a low, dangerous chuckle): "My husband... he's a good man. But he doesn't see me. Not the real me. But you do. Don't you? You see the fire."

(She moves her hand from his shoulder to his cheek, her thumb gently stroking his jawline. He is completely frozen, his pen hovering over the paper.)

Rajan (his voice a strained whisper): "Stop this. Please."

Kavita: "Why? Are you afraid? Afraid of what might happen if you let go of all that control for just one second?"

(Before he can answer, she leans in and presses her lips against his. It's not a gentle kiss. It's hard, demanding, a kiss meant to shatter his composure. After a moment of shocked stillness, he shoves her back, his chair scbanging against the floor as he stands up abruptly. His face is a mask of disbelief and anger.)

Rajan: "What the hell was that? Are you insane?"

Kavita (calmly, wiping a smudge of her lipstick from his lips with her thumb): "It was just a kiss, Rajan ji. Don't look so scandalized."

Rajan: "Just a kiss? You can't just do that! We're colleagues! You just got married a few days ago! Have you no shame?"

Kavita (her expression turns cold, all playfulness gone): "Shame? Shame is for people who are afraid of what they want. I'm not afraid. I saw something I wanted, and I took it. It's a shame you didn't enjoy it."

Rajan: "This isn't about enjoyment! This is about respect! About boundaries!"

Kavita (laughing, a genuinely amused sound): "Boundaries? Oh, Rajan. You and your rules. Your numbers. Your neat little boxes. Some things don't fit in boxes. And what are you going to do about it, anyway? Complain to the Principal? 'Sir, the new French teacher, Mrs. Kavita, she kissed me and I didn't like it'. Who do you think he would believe? The serious, dedicated Maths teacher, or the poor, emotional newlywed who might have 'misread the signals'?"

Rajan (staring at her, speechless): "You... you're..."

Kavita: "I'm late for home. My husband will be waiting."

(She picks up her purse, gives him one last, lingering look, a look that is a mixture of pity and contempt, and walks out of the staffroom, leaving him standing there, his heart pounding, his perfectly ordered world completely thrown into chaos.)
