I was neutral too all character, (although I have soft spot for ammu.) until arjun slap shanu . now its personal , if i could , i would have kick his ass. I know he is a hero , I would never able to kick his ass.
arjun join politics , because he is thirsty for power , he want to showoff.
zaheer was not interested , untill someone came and say there is drug involved. he want to be a hero
shanu didn't just join zaheer , because he is her lover . she had other motivation too , she has concern for her college , and for arjun too .
but ammu , our "gadhi": , she just join election because arjun manipulate her . his fake tears make her forgive his absolutely selfish actions. and also fight with her brother ( zaheer was also responsible , for the fight)
but zaheer did very good job , when he find out about ammu and arjun .
