I agree on the register to read part.
However there should not be any mandate to comment/like once a day/week/ month. This will unnecessary cause spam comments. Not everyone has the time to login here daily specially the working class. People often come here to relax on weekends or late night.

Lastly if the account hasn't logged in for past 1 year then it should be removed from the database.
