“Vamsi deserves better, though. He loves me. He trusts me. I can’t do this to him.”
“But... can I really keep pretending?” The question snaked its way into her thoughts, refusing to let go.
She shifted uncomfortably, the pressure of the decision closing in around her chest.
She couldn’t stop the images of Ravi from replaying in her mind,
The way he had kissed her, the way he made her feel alive.
How had one kiss undone so much? How had she let it happen?
"What if I’m not enough for him anymore?" That voice inside her,
The one that had been whispering for weeks now, grew louder.
"What if I’ve been starving for something more than Vamsi can give me?"
The guilt twisted deeper. She closed her eyes briefly,
But the image of Ravi, his eyes dark with desire, his lips soft against her skin, flashed behind her eyelids.
“I can’t keep lying to myself. I want this. I want him.”
She opened her eyes and glanced at Ravi.
He was sitting there, relaxed but with a hint of something in his expression—patience, maybe.
Or was it something else? “Hunger? Desire?”
It was the way he waited, giving her the space to decide.
The way he made it clear that he wasn’t rushing her, wasn’t forcing anything. It was... seductive.
“God, he’s dangerous.”
"But I’m just as dangerous, aren’t I?"
She thought with a sudden spark of mischief in her eyes.
The thought caught her off guard, but it was there, as real as the heat pooling in her stomach.
“I’ve spent so much time fighting what I want. Maybe I should just let go. Let myself enjoy this for once.”
The guilt was still there, clawing at her heart,
But now there was something else, a rebellious streak, a little flicker of excitement.
