Neetu’s Conflict – The Beauty No One Saw
The soft tick of the bedroom clock echoed in the quiet.
Neetu stood still in front of the mirror,
Towel wrapped around her chest
Damp hair cascading over her shoulders like a silk curtain.
Water still clung to her glowing skin.
Steam kissed her collarbone.
But it wasn’t the shower that made her flush.
It was that look in his eyes.
His silence.
His restraint.
“He could’ve peeked.”
“I left the door open a little longer than necessary… and I wasn’t even wearing anything.”
“I was right there, behind the door. Just inches away.”
She reached up and slowly unwrapped the towel around her hair,
Letting it fall to the side.
Her reflection caught the light, shoulders shimmering,
Cheeks flushed, eyes still clouded with something unspoken.
She spoke aloud now, softly. Just to herself.
“He knew. He definitely knew I had nothing on.”
“He could’ve come in. I wouldn’t have stopped him.”
“But he didn’t.” (pause) “That’s what’s making this worse… or better.”
Her fingers moved to the edge of the towel around her chest.
She loosened it, let it slide down slowly
Revealing the full radiance of her bare body to the mirror.
She stood there... Naked
Still damp from the shower
Staring at herself.
