Are you still awake?


Abhi:
Only because something’s still missing.


Madhavi:
Hmm. Missing… or still lingering?


Abhi:
Both.
Something about tonight isn’t done yet.
You’re still in the air.


Madhavi:
I felt it too. Like you left the room, but not my skin.


Abhi:
You made me burn tonight, standing so close, saying nothing.


Madhavi:
And yet… I said everything.


Abhi:
You did. With your silences. With that smile you gave when Shruti sat next to me.


Madhavi:
Did you want me to be jealous?


Abhi:
No. I wanted to look at you and know you were still mine, even while the world watched.


Madhavi:
You didn’t have to look. I never moved away.

There was a pause. Abhi stared at the screen, heart quietly thudding.
