Sunday Late Morning in 202
It was late morning.
Sunlight fell in bright squares across the tiled floor of 202.
Sandeep, in his weekend shorts, was crouched near the open cabinet, trying to findout something.
Madhavi leaned against the wall, sipping coffee from her steel tumbler,
While Abhi just stepped in and sat near the open balcony door, flipping through messages on his phone.
“I’m calling Vinay and Shruti, for dinner tonight” Sandeep said suddenly.
“They’re new in the building, but Vinay’s cool. Met him twice in the lift.”
“He said they’re free today evening.” He said walking towards the bedroom.
Madhavi’s eyebrows lifted.
“Ohh,” she said, turning slightly toward Abhi, voice sing-song. “You haven’t met Shruti yet, have you?”
Abhi looked up, curious. “No, who’s she?”
Madhavi walked closer, swirling the coffee in her tumbler like she was about to reveal a secret.
“She’s... dangerous,” she said with a wink.
“Very pretty. Perfect North Indian, long hair, always smiling—and a little too friendly for her own good.”
Abhi smiled. “Sounds like a lot.”
“More than you can handle,” she added,
Casually walking past him and brushing his arm as she passed. “But fun to watch you try.”
He looked at her, amused. “Try what?”
She turned, hand on hip, lips curled into that wicked little smirk she wore when she was in the mood to play.
“Try to impress her, obviously,” she said.
