Priya emerged from the kitchen, wiping her hands.


She froze for a split second when she saw Sirisha, then softened.


“Hi!” Sirisha greeted warmly. “You look so fresh, Didi. Did you just get home from somewhere?”

Priya smiled gently. “No, just the kitchen. You want some water?”

“No, no… I just came for a minute. I’ll leave soon.”

But she didn’t.

Not immediately.

She followed Ravi to the dining table,

Placed the notebook gently beside his laptop, and leaned in.

“So… there’s this one small module I couldn’t understand even after watching the video twice. Can I show you tomorrow?”

“Sure,” Ravi said, flipping the book. “What time?”

Sirisha bit her lower lip for a second, thinking.

“Actually… how about you all come home tomorrow night? For dinner?” she said,

Suddenly turning to Priya.

“Bhabhi—sorry, Didi—I really want to cook something. 

  My bhayya loves showing off my food when I try new things.

  He said he’ll call Amit bhayya and tell him too.”


Priya blinked.

It took her a second to catch up. “Dinner? Tomorrow?”


“Yeah!” she nodded brightly.
