They collapsed together



Chests heaving

Bodies slick with sweat.

The jasmine scent seemed stronger now

Heady and intoxicating in the silence that followed their storm.

It clung to him, to her, to the sheets beneath them,

A fragrant reminder of the wildness they’d unleashed together.  

She held onto him as if he were going to slip away

Then finally lifted her head

Finding his gaze in the dim light of the room.

It was slow and liquid gold

The kind of look that spoke of something deeper than just physical pleasure.

He reached up, his hand cupping her cheek,

Thumb stroking gently against the curve of her jaw.

His gaze lingered on her lips before sliding lower to trace the damp line of her throat.

"You're so beautiful," he breathed,

The words laced with a reverence she hadn't heard in their usual playful banter.

His touch sent shivers down her spine
