She only leaned into it
Head tilting, eyes fluttering closed.
“You’re not following your own rule,” she whispered.
“What rule?”
“You said just one kiss.”
Abhi smiled against her skin. “I am still figuring out where... I am just...”
She laughed
Low, husky, completely disarmed. “You always find the loopholes.”
He drew back just enough to look at her. “Meghana…”
“Yes?”
“I don’t think I’m capable of holding anything back anymore.”
She gazed at him for a long second.
Then slowly, deliberately, she cupped his face and kissed his forehead.
“Good,” she whispered.
And then she leaned back, resting against him
Again his arms circling around her, her breath steadying.
No more rewards.
No more words.
Just the hush of aftermath.
The soft, breathless silence that comes only after two people have shared something that wasn’t planned… but felt inevitable.
Outside, the morning sun had risen fully.
But inside, time didn’t matter.
Not for now.
