As for Sonarika's case , this is just part 1 of the whole experience. There will be more revelations in part 2 that commence in chapter 15. Sonarika's arc like I said is based on the concept of Choice Vs Desire. She is for now succumbing to the temptations of her desire which is Vikram who is pressing all the right buttons. He is doing everything that Sonarika desires in a relationship that is romantic. Hemant doesn't do that , his romancing ways are different. He is not as flamboyant as Vikram. In her mind right now , Hemant is a nostalgia , the man returning to his old ways , the time when she truly enjoyed with him building a life. But Vikram has turned into an addiction in her mind , and this is her conflict , to fight and see where her future is. Is it with Hemant and her family or is it with Vikram.
As for Meghna , she is the villain of Sonarika's story , her arc is simple and is focused on revenge. She wants to ruin Sonarika and the best way she believes she can get that revenge is by ruining Sonarika's identity and her marriage. Which is why she is doing everything to make the couple of Vikram and Sonarika to work. Because by doing this , Sonarika will eventually have to abandon her family and start new with a new man. And she is doing it not to hurt Sonarika , but her father for something he did long back. And for me , her character is easy to write because her arc is set and her motivations are already clear. But will she succeed , only time will tell. Part 2 of this voyage of love arc will show more of these characters and set up more interesting scenarios for the future.
I understand your perspective but i am not buying the desire part here, its clear its more than desire, lust and addiction at this point. You do not talk sweetly with your husband about being soul mates and come and fuck another in next few hours. Its unreal if some one can defend her actions at this point, I was empathizing her character until Bali..now it lost its way. May be the story needs her to long for her lover but its getting personal which doesn't seem just lust anymore.
The underlying strong love for her husband is not seen with her, that's the problem I see...words and actions should align.
