Friday Morning – Just Before the Pose
Abhi settled onto the mat behind her.
For a long, charged moment, he didn’t move.
Just watched the curve of her back beneath the robe
The delicate slope of her neck where her hair clung, still a little damp.
She was still.
Still breathing.
Still silent.
But not indifferent.
She could feel the weight of his gaze like a warm hand.
It didn’t make her nervous.
It made her aware, of herself, of him,
Of how different today already felt.
Without turning around,
Meghana reached up and gathered her hair into a loose tie at the crown of her head.
The motion lifted her shoulders, exposing more of her back.
The robe slid an inch further off her shoulder.
Then she inhaled
A deep, deliberate breath.
And stood.
She rose with fluid grace
Stepping forward slightly off the mat.
Her fingers reached for the robe’s knot at her waist.
She untied it with quiet ease
The fabric loosening
Parting
Slipping down from her shoulders in a single graceful motion.
She let it fall.
The robe slid to the floor like water
pooling at her feet.
She stood there
