No words.
Just her, in the doorway
Morning light spilling over her shoulder like it had been waiting for her too.
She was barefoot,
Wrapped in a pale slate-blue robe cinched loosely at her waist
Like she’d only just tied it.
Soft fabric clung gently to her curves,
Revealing more than it concealed
The slope of one collarbone
The line of a bare thigh peeking through the hem.
Her hair was still damp from the shower, gathered lazily over one shoulder.
One long tendril curled down her neck,
Glistening against skin still flushed from warmth.
She blinked once, like seeing him there pulled her out of something deep.
Then she stepped back in a quiet invitation.
“Come in,” she said, voice quiet, but not unsure.
He stepped past the threshold, his shoulder brushing hers.
The scent of her, warm jasmine, skin, steam
Rose immediately, dizzying and familiar.
Like something that had once been his, in some quiet, unspoken way.
The door clicked shut behind him.
They didn’t speak.
They didn’t need to.
Just her, in the doorway
