Abhi typed slowly, one hand under the table.
Abhi: “You’re unfair.”
Madhavi: “You haven’t even seen what’s hidden under the hem.”
His breath caught. The cards blurred momentarily in his hand.
Sandeep laughed at something on the playlist. “Man, this song is such a throwback! Remember college fests?”
“Hmm,” Abhi managed.
Madhavi reached forward to adjust the cards
Her fingers grazing his wrist as she did.
It was a feather, light touch. But deliberate.
Another message pinged.
Madhavi: “You didn’t flinch. Are you always this controlled?”
He smiled slightly, almost invisible.
He replied:
Abhi: “No. I’m burning.”
Her lips curled—not into a full smile
But into something far more dangerous: satisfaction.
Sandeep was chewing on peanuts, scrolling through his phone.
“Babe, I’ll be right back. My cousin sent those Europe pictures.”
He got up, walked toward the bedroom.
The door clicked shut.
They had a few seconds of privacy.
Madhavi didn’t move closer.
She didn’t say a word.
She simply lifted the hem of her kurti by a few inches more
Just enough to let Abhi glimpse the soft, shadowed curve of her upper thigh.
She wasn't wearing anything underneath her kurti...
Then she smoothed it back down, deliberately slow.
And whispered, not even fully audible,
Abhi stared at her, breath shallow.
Sandeep re-entered. “He went paragliding! Lucky bugger.”
Abhi turned just in time to nod.
Madhavi picked up the cards, utterly composed.
But beneath the table, her foot found Abhi’s again.
This time, she didn’t move away.
Abhi: “You’re unfair.”
Madhavi: “You haven’t even seen what’s hidden under the hem.”
