Chapter 068☆
"Huh... Huh..." Grandpa's house was very quiet. I walked to the yard and saw the flower fields outside the fence swaying like waves one after another with the warm wind blowing.
The fragrance of flowers is overflowing and it is very cool.
Standing in the small courtyard, looking at the plains in the distance, in a sunflower field planted by my grandfather, I seemed to see my mother's tall and graceful figure taking pictures there, but I knew how could my mother be there? Unknowingly, my eyes gradually blurred.
"Zihan, what are you looking at?" Dad came up from behind me, wearing a striped short shirt, army green trousers, long rubber shoes, a straw hat, and a hoe on his shoulder.
"Grandpa, it's so beautiful here. It would be great if mom was here." I quickly looked at dad with a smile.
"Haha, yes, just wait a little longer. Maybe we can go back soon." Dad patted my shoulder. My grandparents came out of the house. Dad went over and carried a bucket filled with pesticides to grandma.
"Zihan, there are watermelons and gbangs in the kitchen. If you want to eat, go get them yourself." Grandpa and grandma were dressed like dad, and it looked like they were going to be busy in the flower fields again.
"I know." I watched my father and grandparents walking along the path, and then disappeared into the endless sea of flowers.
I went back to the kitchen to get the fruit and went back to the yard to lie down on a chair. The sun was still very bright. Fortunately, my grandfather’s yard was covered with gbang trellises that blocked most of the hot sunlight.
As I ate the fruit, the summer breeze blew, making me gradually feel sleepy. Maybe it was because I was so worried about my mother and Sam in recent days, so I fell asleep unconsciously.
I slept soundly during this nap. When I opened my eyes again, I saw the sun beginning to set to the west. The golden light hit the earth. The cicadas chirped in the wind not far away, which made me wake up from my dream. When I woke up, I felt a little lonely.
Dad and the others hadn't come back from the fields yet. I picked up my phone and looked at it. It happened to be five o'clock in the afternoon.
Mom is at home and should have started cooking dinner by now.
Thinking of Sam bullying my mother like that and having her cook for him, I felt inexplicably uncomfortable and irritable.
Thinking of my mother, I turned on the surveillance at home.
