He inhaled.
Meghana tilted her head. “I’m impressed,” she said. “You trusted me.”
“You made it easy.”
“Did I?” she asked, voice dipping.
And before he could answer, she leaned forward, slowly… and pressed a kiss to his shoulder.
Not just a peck.
It was bare—he had pulled his tee slightly loose earlier—and she placed her lips directly on his skin.
Soft.
Warm.
Staying.
His breath caught.
Her palm came up behind the same shoulder, grounding him, while her lips remained—parted, lingering, like she was still deciding whether to kiss him or breathe him in.
“I told you,” she whispered, barely pulling back. “This pose can’t be done outside.”
He swallowed. “Because of the wall?”
“No.” Her eyes lifted to meet his. “Because of what comes after.”
Another beat.
Then, gently, she shifted, her face now in front of his.
She was close.
Close enough to blur the world.
“And since you were such a… committed student,” she said, voice low and deliberate, “I think you deserve one small reward.”
He blinked.
