That is indeed the nature of her character. Yes she did have an affair but at the same time , she has always been possessive and protective of Hemant. She is possessive of Hemant , at the same time she feels enchanted by Vikram. Ironically the best part about her is that she is not abandoning either of the men , despite having a physical relationship with Vikram , she isn't disconnecting herself with Hemant. At the same time , despite her bond with Hemant growing stronger , she still feels the infactuation she has with Vikram. But eventually fate will make her choose only one , and that choice will pave the way for the future of the story.

Her hypocrisy is a mirror to her own feelings and fears regarding her actions.
