Beautiful forest.. slightly drizzling .. colourful coffee estates.. chilling weather.. two married couples are returning from their hectic vacation trip. From Pune to Bengaluru to Mysore to Ooty and now back to Mysore..

Reducing the FM radio volume, Ravinder looks back to see Roopali doing some work in her laptop. Mahaveer is driving a new BMW with a fancy number plate. Mahaveer spent a lot of money to get that fancy number, but he knows that fancy number adds lot of business value and enhance his social status. Of course when you sell your car, you get a premium price because of that fancy number.. You spend 2 lakhs to get the fancy number but it will enhance your car value by 20 lakhs !! that’s how shrewd he is !!

Mandakini sitting next to Roopali is looking into Roopali’s lap top.. lots of modern building designs. Roopali is finalizing the architecture of upcoming Pune IT Park. Looking apologetically at Mandakini, Rupali says “sorry Mandaa.. need to finalize this and send to client by EOD..”

Ravinder sitting next to Mahaveer looks at his wife Roopali in rear view mirror and says “Roopa.. it’s a crime to bring laptop for vacation.. you are spoiling the mood of every one”..  Roopali is not in a mood to argue with him now, her focus is on finalizing the design ..

Its around 4 PM , already  its getting dark. The roads are too narrow and also there are many steep curves. Mahaveer is an expert at driving in ghaat roads. He has been to many road trips and that’s why he is driving most of this trip with occasional help from other three..

After sending the email with the design, Roopali closes her laptop and picks up her coffee mug from the try and says “sorry guys.. now I am free.. bhayya, what’s the plan in Mysore ? we have already seen Brundavan Gardens.. what else to see ?”

Ravinder applies sudden break and looks back at Roopali and asks “you don’t know what else is famous in Mysore ? Did you forget the famous Mysore Palace ?”, shifting the gears he looks at the fuel level.. Its coming down to Empty level.. They all forget about filling petrol. Anyway we can still drive 50 kilo meters easily and the app on dashboard is saying next gas station is 20 km away. Nothing to worry

“Mahaveer.. Roopali is always busy with her profession.. this is her first trip to South India” , covers Ravinder..

“Haa.. bhayya.. I hardly get any time for vacation.. this is the longest I had !!! 10 days”

Mandakini is yearning for hot filter coffee.. the smell of coffee estates is driving her crazy. She has seen many small huts on the road side selling hot coffee.. we should always taste the local flavors.. She is looking for the next road side hut.

As they are all joking and chit chatting , all of a sudden weather turned bad. There is a thunderstorm warning given in the radio. And also it became dark. Original plan is to reach Mysuru before night but they had to take extra break on the way as the ladies wanted to use rest rooms

There is a huge thumping sound  accompanied by a vibration and the car swiveled to one side and stopped on the edge of the road. It’s a small one way ghaat road and luckily car stopped just outside of the road, so there is no issue to the traffic and anyway there is not much traffic on that stretch
“Flat tire , it is” , announced Mahaveer and every one gets down from the car.. the drizzle is not heavy though. As Mahaveer is trying to look for jockey and spare tire, there is a huge thunderstorm and every got into car as the rain picked up its intensity..

Meanwhile Ravinder’s father called him “beta.. I have been trying to call you and I think there is no signal at your end, how is the vacation going on ?”

Mandakini pulls the phone from Ravinder and says “papa.. we are struck on a narrow ghaat road and we had a flat tire.. its raining heavily and also became dark. Also we are running out of fuel”

Sensing some fear in her voice, her father says  “I can see your vehicle being stopped. We have a guest house in 20 km, I will send some driver to you, you guys take rest for night and resume tomorrow”

There is no other option other than taking a break for the night.
