Happy to see that a lot of you guys have discussed the story and the characters. So just to give a perspective I would like to give some insights to my main characters.
SONARIKA
What makes me derive this character from the other usual cheating wife stories is that I wanted to draw out a scenario similar to expectations vs reality with her. In her core character arc , the idea behind her is choice vs desire. Hemant is her choice while Vikram is her desire. Sonarika's arc is revolving on two characteristic regarding her men. With Hemant , the theme is friendship turned love. I've already stated they both were "suffering" in their past until they found each other. Love between them was most likely a one way street in a way. Because Sonarika learned to love him , he wasn't the ideal man in her life but he was someone that rebuild her. With Hemant , Sonarika doesn't feel just love , but compassion , respect , honor , admiration. To some extent Hemant was always her source of strength until Vikram came in her life , a man that is THE IDEAL VERSION she saw in her partner. His arrival changed her perspective and the intentions and motivations from her closed ones tempted her to seek this affair. In a way , she is feeling things a wife is supposed to feel for her husband. Is it really love? we may know in the future. But the core idea is figuring out what a woman's mind goes through in this situation. She built a life with Hemant and a family along with it , but Vikram is also someone she feels a spark that is romantic and at the same time emotional. What will a woman like her will eventually make the decision for , because whatever decision she makes , she will loose something , and the consequence will affect her. As for who she truly loves it will eventually be revealed in the later chapters but for now , her character arc will be about her struggles to find the right path and the right guidance.
HEMANT
Now , originally when I envisioned the characters , I actually wanted to integrate both Hemant and Sonarika as the main leads of the story. But I will agree , eventually I consider , Hemant as the lead character simply because he brings a whole lot of content and dynamic in the story. The reason chapter 6 is so big is because I want to end chapter 6 in a crucial point so that Chapter 7 I can finally introduce the backstory of Hemant and finally reveal his past. To me he is the personified character in the story because he will affect all the other characters in one way or the other based on his evolution. I won't claim Hemant to be the model good guy but in my story , his heart is in the right place. And this is just the beginning for the massive arc his character will take from the next chapter. In all honesty , he is my main man. The lead man of the entire arc. When it comes to writing character and its importance , he is my Monalisa painting.
Now there are other characters but in the core of the story , I envisioned both these characters as the center stage and how these turn of events will change them and their relation in the long term but to be clear storyline wise Hemant is the main character though Sonarika might not be main anymore she will share somewhat the same weight and impact as Hemant's character. Will they survive this darkness or will this eventually tear them apart? That we will learn in the future. Just a quick heads up , the next part of the chapter will feature a little bit of graphic content because the next part will be heavily story focused. You will be getting a taste of how the world will develop in the next part and certain parts of revelation will reveal the magnitude at which this story will eventually follow.
