You are in an affair for following reasons
1. For fun or some great sex which is missing from husband for various reasons
2. You need peace away from your existing life which you are feeling like a burden
3. Circumstances led you to have an affair where you slipped in a weak moment and continuing it as there is no going back
Every scenario you play it out will be one of these or a combination of these above reasons. Once you are in an affair, if it is not for fun in this case and you are falling for other guy then there is no way she can love her husband. Two men being loved by a woman physically and emotionally is bullshit theory. If that was true, we would have seen Sonarika's heart breaking from the fact that she is hurting Hemanth and here we only see confused and conflicted version which tells us that she is in lvoe with Vik than Hemanth.
So her confession to Hemanth should not impact her much and as per the readers punishing her and making her see that she lost a diamond is only writer's twist but not realistically possible. If you are in love with Vik, it doesn't matter what happens next with Hemanth, whether he becomes best and wealthiest man on earth or kingpin, why should it matter to Sonarika. So a payback theory will be shallow if it was ever written in future. That's life, once who cheats and moves on from their life also flourish while the one's who are victims also will thrive in their life. Simply put, life moves on and there will be no regrets.
