I sensed a certain anger in the air. But I thought, why? I was just trying to calm the situation down, to have a bit of fun and get everything under control again.
When someone is misbehaving with your wife, you should not calm the situation, rather take it under your control. You have to admit yourself the truth that even when Nadir was talking to Cyrus, his mind was playing images of him making out with his wife…that temptation is what kept you from getting angry and teaching some sense to the kid.
I stood still in the darkness, but I knew she could see me. I could see her as always, her face was to see in the beams of moonlight. Then she closed her eyes, but I was sure she is still not sleeping.
So why did Meena want alone time? Why didn’t she want to talk to Nadir? My feeling is she is trying to make sense of her husband’s weakness and his request. She feels that has gone too far that night and she wants alone time to think about her own feelings about what happened.
My thoughts went back to the party, what happened there and afterwards, and then other thoughts and questions came up. Did I do everything right? Meena was a little outraged, in the car and at home too, but why? Yes, I was a little under the influence of beer, but otherwise everything was fine.
How is everything fine? Some guy is blackmailing your wife that he knows she slept with his dad and offering his thing to her and she is pissed because of his behavior, and I do not understand why Nadir thinks everything is fine.
Then came a for me shocking question, she asked me, "Will you call Cyrus for me later? You still have his business card, I guess."
So, what’s changed overnight? She took alone time to come to terms with your request and is sacrificing her self-respect for your sake…Meena is truly a miracle woman.
But for me, that was just a silly game of a stupid, cheeky teenager and my inclinations got just coincidentally involved.
No, it was not. If he was just flirting it was a silly game, but when he started to pursue her with obscene comments, blackmailing with her meetings with his dad and then started to get bold by trying to show his thing, then how is it silly game?? Sometimes I feel Nadir is naïve and cannot comprehend simple situations correctly
Meena interrupted me, “Look Nadir, why not?”, "This is a great opportunity, we have to take advantage of it, I want it... I want it and I'm sure I'll enjoy a little erotic play and maybe even more than a little...with a very young, good-looking man. This is just a game…".
I sense sarcasm here lol …She is angry but pretending to just get it done for Nadir sake.
I knew Meena and knew that she was serious. But from her behavior I wasn't sure what her goal was, she wanted obviously to go down that path and get involved with the kid and apparently had no problems with that. But I wasn't sure if she wanted to punish me because in her opinion last evening I didn't assess right and react correctly to the situation, the way she expected. Maybe she felt that I had left her alone, but was it really that bad? Did I take the events too lightly after drinking a glass more beer?
She took her time last night to come to terms with your request and she is now doing what she has promised that she will do anything that is needed for her husband. She is not punishing you; she might be punishing herself in a way by doing the things she is doing for your sake. We all know that kid is not her usual choice and if given choice she will never choose him but yet she is saying he is perfect candidate and a young person. That shows she is playing it for you and doing it for you.
I told Farzan that we have nothing planned and will be happy to go to Tahir. He said hopefully the weather will be better and we can spend more time outside.

If I'm against a suggestion or idea of yours, I'll definitely say it, if it's too much for me or I think it's not my style, then I'll tell you but otherwise, I'll do what you want.”,”, Just one thing Nadir... I only want one thing; I want that when you decide for something or some activity, then you accept the consequences, to assume the responsibility for its consequences, is the only proviso ... It's not that I'm that enthusiastic about this kid, but it's just too much for me that you change your mind so often and want something different every day. I also have my limits.”
I have been trying to comprehend these words since I read. One thing that is sure for me is Cyrus is not a usual choice for Meena, and she is only doing this for Nadir’s sake. Yet she is saying if she is against his suggestion or idea then she will say it. So why is she not denying this game for Nadir? After all Cyrus is Jalal’s son and a teen. Cyrus’s apology doesn’t mean anything because his true nature is when he is drunk, his inner desires have come out at that time. So, either Meena wants to teach a lesson to both the men, or she just gave up fighting and doing what her husband wants her to do it. Also, like Tahir and Farzan, Cyrus is not mature enough to keep his mouth shut, he could become arrogant like he was last night when drunk and could talk about Meena with his guests or Tahir’s guests. Meena’s point is Nadir should own such consequences if they arise and not blame her at that time.
Also, as much as I can see that Meena is willing to do anything for Nadir and be a part of his games and even though the suitors are not her choice but Nadir’s choice, it’s equally important for Nadir to be a gentlemen and choose someone appropriate for Meena and keep her self-respect at highest pedal before making a choice. Asking her to do things that she usually does not wish to do will only build resentment for these games in her, and it’s not good for the couple. When Nadir and Meena talked about Tahir, it was clear that Meena liked him to an extent, so it was fun to be with Tahir and even though the pace at which Nadir pushed her into that game is uncomfortable it still is better choice.... Nadir should carefully think about his choices.
