Dear friends,

As I sit down to write this epilogue, I feel an immense sense of gratitude toward each and every one of you who has followed this story. Calling you just "readers" feels inadequate—you have been my companions on this journey, and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This story, though entirely fictional, is deeply rooted in reality. It is a tapestry woven from people and events that have, in some way, touched my life. Aruna, the heart of this tale, is inspired by three remarkable women I have known—one of whom actually had an affair with her stepbrother, a truth stranger than fiction. Sunandha’s character is a reflection of my own aunt, a woman of unwavering devotion who sacrificed everything for her husband’s first family. Purushotham, though I couldn’t quite do justice to his complexities, is based on a professor I once knew—an absolute playboy. And Rachana’s secret act of taking money from her father without informing her husband? That, too, comes from a real-life incident within my own family.

There were many more themes I wished to explore—like the tangled emotions between Sunandha, Prakash, and Anand, or the evolving relationship between Rani and Kishore. However, at this moment in my life, I find myself unable to continue. As a jobless graduate preparing for competitive exams, my focus must shift. Just days ago, the notification for my dream job was released, and I cannot afford to leave this story unfinished. Instead, I have chosen to bring it to a temporary close, even if it meant rushing through the last two chapters—a decision for which I sincerely apologize.

But this is not truly the end. I have deliberately left an open ending because I fully intend to return with Family of Shadows - Part II. It may take months, but when the time is right, I will pick up this story once more. Until then, I thank you all for your unwavering support and patience.
