So tell me why you and all the readers here think husband is wimp, weak and does not deserve Esha, bad in bed and blah blah..... Maybe point 8 might give you that impression that he is weak in forgiving her but he is not forgiving her but asking her to leave her lover and his child..He loves her so he is giving another chance, I do not see that as weakness.
I don't personally think that Kunal is a wimp in this story , not once. But on a literary note , I found Kunal's character to be a cliche. The usual husband who looses everything rhetoric. But now his character is getting some fresh makeover with him getting pushed to find the truth where now his dynamic changes. As for the abortion stance , I believe it is Kunal's hurt that was talking , that moment basically shows how much he indeed loves Esha , that despite all that he wants to still hold onto her and save this family. But in the end he realized its better to leave her than finding any hope in being with her. Kunal has the right justification towards Esha and I believe its never going to change , maybe there will be some when he learns that Esha was manipulated into this relationship but in the end Kunal can never see Esha in the same way as before. I only see the future where Esha is just a forgotten memory for Kunal and he gets to find closure and live a happy life with someone else who loves him genuinly and would actually care for their relationship. Aditya will still be a part of his life and he will love him and care for him as a co parent but he will never accept a cordial relation with Esha because it will be foolish to approach that kind of relation considering the magnitude of the mistake that she has done to Kunal. In my eyes , her actions aren't exactly forgivable if she still feels happy with Aniket despite knowing that she was manipulated into being with him and never be apologetic for her actions towards Kunal. Hell I don't think Aniket can be forgivable considering he seeks Priya's help to seduce Esha and willingly ruined her marital life to claim her. But atleast , Aniket is honest about his mistakes. But his desire to turn Kunal cuck is also another factor that makes me dislike him.
So my point is even if Esha is happy from now on with Aniket and Kunal is happy after some time when things settle down, its not end of the world for every one involved in this mess. Ending need not always be Esha made a mistake so she should be unhappy at the end, Kunal was the victim and he lost his wife so he should be super happy otherwise its a wimp story?...Ending could be separate paths for Esha who is happy with Aniket and Kunal can be happy in life with some one else eventually...Kunal lost his wife, so did Esha lose her husband with her stupidity. She found love, Kunal will find it one day too..I do not agree when some one calls husband wimp if he does not get revenge or if he does not get super sexy wife again at the end. As long as he is not cuckold and does not agree to keep Esha and her child and also allow her to spend time with Aniket, he is not a wimp. But that's just my opinion...I respect your thought process and agree to disagree.
Definitely we agree to disagree , from your point I get it you are satisfied as long as the man isn't a wimp and makes the right decision. But in my point of view , I cannot see it to be the best approach for the character to be limited in that sense. I would always prefer a character show some improvements based on their failures and tries to be better in the future. Not have the failures in their life to be just a bad memory but a means of motivation to do better , adapt and evolve. I don't believe Kunal should have an amicable relation with Esha because it will negate his character development now , because that would mean he is willing to forgive her. Not every actions need to be forgived. Some should have lifelong consequences , especially for Esha who still haven't shown any remorse or regrets for her actions towards Kunal and is still having her best and happy moments with Aniket. I don't want Kunal to be given the "Jon Snow" treatment , where he is given this wonderful character development but then as the end comes he is reduced to a side quest with no purpose and a retarded ending for that matter. Kunal deserves the "Aragorn" treatment , he should learn from his mistakes and hurt and adapt to be better. But like I said , agree to disagree , you are fine with less dynamic for the character, but I kind of like some more for it thats all.
By the way, that story has worse ending, I do not know why you idolize it. In fact I was talking about another story not this one. It seems you are OK as long as wife pleads and begs guilty and husband accepts her then its a great story? Its not realistic for Saravanan to accept his wife and blame it all on his friend. Both are at fault but only one suffers humiliation in society and has to bear to raise child from Sarvanan as father. Wife is portrayed as manipulated by his friend so she gets free pass at the end. I hated that story climax.
I agree with your opinion regarding the climax , I too am not a big fan of how it ended. But the character of Saravanan is what I find to be the best version of the "husband" characters in these stories. Because unlike other stories where either they compromise or turn cuckold or wimp , Saravanan put his foot on the ground and derived an ultimatum. He was willing to save his marriage and he made his stance clear , and to some extent it made sense because the story was rural themed and the characters all had conservative dynamics where securing the family is an important part of their lives. And the wife's reaction was also done beautifully where she shows remorse and feels heartbroken that she cheated on her husband and that she has committed a terrible sin. It kind of showed that despite the affair the wife loved her husband but her conservative side also felt she was ruined and that she will forever be a dirty stain in her husband's life. I liked that story until Prabhu and his wife came and that "weird" scenario happened. In my opinion , the ending should've been Saravanan and Meera trying their ways to fix their marriage. Kunal and Saravanan are carved from the same character dynamic and both kind of have a conservative approach to marriage , but Kunal is more liberal and believes in sharing house chores and responsibilities and sharing a good working relationship with their partners.
Regardless , I still believe what I believe my head cannon of old Esha and old Kunal meeting should come true. And that should show eventually the consequences of their actions carved their lives to different paths. Esha build her new relation and romance with Aniket over the wreckage and ruins of her old marriage , and that would always haunt her , leading her life to be a combination of happiness and disappointment , plus raising Aditya as a co parent would only deepen her scars. Kunal on the other hand should find closure with Esha's action and move on from her , find another woman or live alone with materialistic gains , I don't care , just live happily , full of life fullfillment and happiness. My own preferrence will be another woman , and this woman will complete his life. And at the end Kunal will thank Esha and finally forgive her saying that he is glad she threw away their marriage because if that didn't happen , he wouldn't have found his happiness. That will bring closure to Esha's turmoil in the end and she will finally get her closure. Because in my opinion Esha deserves this kind of treatment because the magnitude of her cheating demands it. I wouldn't treat her character this way unless Esha broke up with Kunal and moved on with Aniket before being impregnated by him , but Esha did the worst sin along with cheating which is ruin a man's trust and then gets impregnated by another one. That kind of act deserves life long consequence.
