Honestly I don't think realistic approach can make a story like this work. Because if we consider a realistic approach we can never relate or love the characters considering the stupid and bold decisions they take. Realistically the story would never progress this much in a real time scenario. I've read a wonderful redemption story in Literotica where a man who is cheated by turns his life around. And it connected to me because the story and the character portrayal was done really well. In my opinion, Kunal's character is a perfect candidate for an "Underdog turned victor" story , and in a way it can make sense because he has the motive for that drive. Me personally I am never a fan of a man undergoing all the sufferings and humiliation and then when its over, he stays the same. That negates the point of his character.
