Sparrows and Sparrowhawks – 3 (I)
Nadir’s Narration:
The next day, as an exception, I got up earlier. It was only after about half an hour when I was
back from a short walk that Meena opened her eyes and when she saw me dressed, she asked if
she had slept too long. I lay down on the bed next to her, kissed her and hugged her warm body.
"No, I was earlier, exceptionally,” I said, “That was nice last night," I added after a short pause.
Meena thought about it for a moment and then smiled, "I'm glad that you're your old self again, or
more precisely that Lord has woken up again," and touched me briefly.
I asked, "Was it really like you told me, I mean, was Tahir so rude?".
Meena got a serious face for a moment and looked at me, "Do you think I'm lying?".
"Aren't you exaggerating a bit?" I kissed her on the lips again.
"Me? Exaggerate? Why do you think that about me? Do you really think that I would exaggerate or
lie about something like that? Really…". She shook her head and rolled her eyes, whether she
was insulted and irritated. I thought I said something wrong again. I sensed she is waiting for my
reactions as she raised her head and looked into my eyes.
"I don't know..." I stuttered.
Meena suddenly raised her eyebrows for a moment and then her expression changed completely,
and she started laughing, "The answer is, yes, I did it on purpose," and then continued, "Yes, Tahir
was a bit tipsy, perhaps more than a bit, he was really drunk, but he was just admiring my looks
and stressing what a lucky guy you are. The poor lumberjack doesn't dare do anything, at least not
to start anything serious with me when you are around. He made no mistakes, no nonsense, he
just said what he thinks about me and he didn't ask any questions other than about our lives and

afraid. He said that he would be there to look after her, the horses are intelligent and very nice
animals, much nicer than people!
Meena said," Yes, I love horses very much. I'm not afraid of horses or of riding them in general."
It was noon and lunch time again and then time to say goodbye.
We invited Tahir to come to us, especially when he has something to do in the city, if he is not
otherwise interested. He said he will visit the couple, Mei and Li, but he is not interested in coming
to the city too often. He insisted that we are welcome to his farm at any time, on weekends or at
any other time.
We were home in half an hour and then sat down by the pool for a coffee and Meena started
reading her book. After a short while she raised her head and looked at me then she approached
her bathing lounger to me and sat up, "You know, we got a while to dinner," she said, pressing
into me as we held knowing eye contact.
"Yes?" I said.
"Yes." She spoke.
"Oooh," I said, biting my lower lip. "Have some ideas on how to spend that 'while.'?"
Meena nodded as she looked at my eyes.
"Want talk?" she asked in a soft voice.
"Always." I responded.
"Mmm, good. I have a sudden urge to see that look on your face and eyes," she said next to my
ear.
"Oh. You mean That kind of talk. Yes. I do, about something or somebody special?"
I could tell by the soft wet sounds of it that Meena smiled at my second answer. She got close to
my ear again, nibbling on it as she spoke.
" What do you think? A special fantasy? ", and after looking in my eyes she continued, ", you get
that look even when it is just talking, you know.", she giggled.
"I do?" I asked.
"Uhm... Makes me horny to see it," she whispered soft, giving me a kiss on my chin. "It makes me
feel so sexy Nadir…"
"Mm… Yes, then we should talk, please," I said.
Meena cracked another grin and a little laugh and said, “, do you want to tell me the fantasy you
have?”.

Meena's expression dropped.
I guess she was thinking that the slightest idea or suggestion of her wanting or needing someone
other than me... not even for real, even the fantasy talk from her, was always somehow risky after
our recent problems.
Perhaps then, probably she thinks, the fantasy talk or hopes of it goes right out the window…
I wanted to make it easier for her, then I dared to say, "Tahir, for example, he is a bit like Mansour

sufficient satisfactory, was by seeing that look of satisfaction on my face, and that I am

Meena made a face, and I had to stifle a laugh.
"These things I'm repeating back to you, will never change. Am I still right so far?"
Meena took in and let out a deep breath of relief.
"Yes. Nadir…" she said slowly.
I didn't let up.
"Meena, I'm stuck with you forever, no matter what. Even if I wanted to leave, or sell you off, or just
plain run away... For ever with you, in your mind…"
"Hey! Enough, I understand…" she said.
"...Yes? I want say even if I run away, it never works, because you would hunt me down, and
shackle us together. And God! I try to make it clear here that you would never let me dow…"
"All right!! I got it… I got it… we got it…'" she said, looking around. "Enough!"
"You know why? Because, so high irresistible, so magnetic you are," I teased, pulling her to me.

her until she relented. Even though I was practically lifting her off she put up a good fight.
But I do not give in and stick to it until she stopped struggling and began to kiss me back. But I
couldn't help grin at Meena's futile struggling attempts moments earlier and, while starting to smile
too, she pushed away from me again. This time I let her go.
"You bad, bad man!" she said, punching my chest as I stifled laughter. " I kissed you and you
started laughing. where is your behaviour? You bad boy..."
I took her hand and held her open palm to my lips for a long kiss of it, maintaining eye contact with
her, as I did.
"Baby, I know that sentimentalism is important to you. It is for sure to me too," I said, pulling her
back to me with easy success. She fell into me with her chin up and lips pursed, as positive
signal. We kissed, then hugged again.
"Look, the truth is I like hearing fantasies from you, a lot, even how real they sound, no matter how
many times you would tell me and how… how dirty they could be", I said.
"Really you do?", Meena asked.
"Yes, I do, really…” I answered.
"Promise for ever?", she asked again.
