As a fan I would humbly request exploring the character of Kunal further. It just seems like the character has taken a backseat while Esha and Aniket are leading the story. I understand the story is about Priya and her manipulation and ruining the couple of Kunal and Esha but it seems like the character of Kunal is just a convenient plot to the story and nothing more to it. I kind of like Kunal's characterization in the beginning and how he was willing to change for Esha even though he wasn't responsible for any of it. It was clear he loves Esha with all of his heart but Esha seems to forget that ever since the mind blowing sex with Aniket. The plan of Priya pretty much seems to reduce Esha into a slut from the working wife and mother she was. And she has succeeded for the most part because Esha has confessed she loves her son and is somehow holding onto him as a thread to her old life where she was a loving wife.
But Esha clearly has shown she no longer has any feelings for Kunal. Even in her recent adventures with Aniket , the only time she showed regret was when she was with her son Aditya and she feels he will suffer eventually because of her decisions and she will forever hold him close. But not once did she feel any remorse or guilt towards Kunal and his love. In her mind , she is just a dutiful wife to her family , its clear as day she has no longer any feelings for Kunal.
Basically showing the fact that despite all the attempts and changes Kunal brought to make Esha see that he has changed and he does lover her , Esha doesn't reciprocate one bit to his feelings. She is too much engulfed in the world of Aniket and his sexual relief that Kunal is just an afterthought in Esha's life. And that is probably Esha's plan , to make Esha lose Kunal and before she could realize what she lost , it will be too late. Kunal's feelings and love no longer bothers Esha and she probably never will considering how much she has fallen.
In a perfect world , I would say to bring another female character and reveal that Kunal is being loved and respected by another person which will start bothering Esha and later Esha will see the error of her ways and try to see the feelings and love Kunal has for her. Hell , have Priya to be infactuated with Kunal and be the part of Priya's revenge be to replace Esha in her own marriage and Priya becomes Kunal's wife and Aditya's Mother. That will add an interesting dynamic to Priya's character. She basically wants revenge on Esha since Esha was the sole person who ruined her career , Kunal was a collateral. Maybe Priya will realize that Kunal is suffering from her actions and she believes the perfect revenge will be to have herself replace Esha in their lives.
To be honest , I am upset with Kunal's part of the story , its very depressing to read. To marry and love a woman and start a family with her , only for her to throw it away and blame you for her decisions , and when you put the work and dedication to "change" yourself so that you can be the man she loves but still she chooses someone else over you. To be that is far worse than a divorce , hell a situation like that will make any man completely loose his faith in Love. In my headcannon , Kunal simply becomes a Kabir Singh type character when he finds out and lives the rest of his life dedicating it to his son and making sure he gets a wonderful life and nothing else. Maybe that will make Esha sees how much she has hurt Kunal and how she has broken Kunal as a person.
Once again humble request as a fan , don't take the wimpy husband route with Kunal. I personally am sick and tired of that kind of stories , that concept no longer has soul or any good factor. The world needs husbands that have identities and personalities of their own rather than be slaves and wimpy to their wives and their foolish decisions.
