Chapter 23: Feeling Guilt for Shattering Arjun’s Dream to Become a Star
“He has huge contacts, Meera, just like this Producer, he has many Producers in his Contacts and they are genuine friends of his, and they would do anything for him. Disrespecting him is a bad idea,” as exclaimed looking at me through the rear view mirror, I did not say a word, but nodded in agreement. “Does he know that you both love each other, Arjun?” as Venkatesh asked, “yeah, Venkatesh. I told him this in the morning, when I called him to inform him that I was going to meet the Director. “You shouldn’t have told him, Arjun. Now look what he has done, in order to make Meera pay for the disrespect, he has ruined your chance of becoming a Star. Like I told you, all the Producers are his friends, and if someone tries to cast you, he will tell them not to give you any chance in acting,” as Venkatesh was saying, “yeah my Acting career is doomed even before it began,” as Arjun exclaimed and began crying, and without my control I began crying because I started feeling guilty.
Wiping his tears, “drop me there, Venkatesh, my house has come,” as Arjun said, and Venkatesh stopped the Car, “Sorry, Arjun,” as I exclaimed, “enough, Meera, you have ruined my only chance of becoming a Star,” Arjun exclaimed joining his hands and began walking away from us with tears all over his eyes. Watching him cry, I began crying as well, “Arjun, please …” as I exclaimed and got out of Car, and caught his hand, “let me Go, it's because of you my life is ruined!” Arjun almost shouted at me and began pulling his hands off me and began leaving. “Meera, wait in the car, I will convince him,” as Venkatest whispered and began calling “Arjun…Wait…. Arjun….” and began running after Arjun.
As I was crying watching Arjun leaving and entering inside his street, Venkat turned around, “Meera, get inside the car, the key is still inside, someone might steal the car,” as Venkat exclaimed and began running after Arjun, I went inside and sat inside the car, next to the Driver’s seat. As I watched Venkatesh stopping Arjun right behind Arjun entering his house and Arjun wiping his tears and telling him something pointing his hand towards me, I started feeling Guilty for ruining Arjun’s Dream to become a Star. The feeling of guilt began eating me up from inside and began cursing myself. As I watched Arjun pushing Venkat away and began entering inside his house, and Venkat begging him and following him inside his house, I began cursing myself for ruining not just my chance of becoming a Star but also the dream of Arjun to become a Star.
As I continued crying, cursing myself, and looked towards Arjun’s house, Venkatest came out of the house, and as Venkatesh began begging Arjun, Arjun forcibly pushed Venkatesh down and went inside his house. Though I was feeling guilty for ruining Arjun’s Dream, when I saw Venkatesh being pushed on the ground by Arjun, I started feeling sorry for him. Though Arjun’s anger was understandable, at the same time Venkatesh was doing all this to help us, which made me start having a soft corner for Venakesh.
As Venkatesh got up and began coming towards the Car, and got inside the Car, and sat next to me in the Driver’s seat, “Arjun is completely heart broken, Meera, not one Arjun, even his mother is disappointed and she is crying like anything. She wanted to make her son a Star,” as Venkatesh began saying, " I started feeling Guilty. “I could not console his mother, she was crying like her world was shattered. Why she was more heart broken than Arjun, was because, he has been telling his mom about you from the day he had met you, and even told her that he loves you more than anything else in this world, and was going to marry you, and knowing that her son’s future has been ruined all because of you, she is totally heart broken, Meera,” as Venkatesh began saying, I started feeling more and more guilty. “Though his mom was trying to console him that he would get a different producer, when Arjun began telling her that all the Producers are the Cameraman’s friends and they would not cast Arjun in any more, his mom began to lose hope that Arjun was not going to become a star and began crying. When Arjun began telling his mother again and again that his life was ruined all because of you, his mother was crying and he was crying like anything, Meera,” as Venkatesh was saying, I started feeling more and more Guilty and began crying right in front of Venkatesh.
