Prakash once again went inside the hotel reception and looking for the old man.
Old man: What sir, you again came back.
Prakash: Yes, I think am ok to stay in your room. But, can I just see the room before agreeing to it.
Old man: Sir, this is not the hotel room to choose, this is my own stay room. (Whatsoever, he has no option I think).
Prakash: Yes, I know! But please allow me to see the room once.
Old man: Sir, first make the payment, then I’ll allow you to see the room.
Prakash: (In a bit disappointed state) Ok. How much is that?
Old man: Only half the price of the actual room Rs.1000.
Prakash: (He doesn’t worry about the price so he paid him Rs. 1000), can we see the room now.
Old man: Ok, follow me, I’ll show you the room.
Old man is walking towards his room and Prakash is following behind him. Once they reach the room door,
Old man: Sir, this is the room and he just pushed the door and it opened.
Prakash: (In a confused state) Does this room doesn’t have a lock?
Old man: No sir, the lock got damaged recently, will get this fixed in a couple of days.
Prakash: (What the hell!)
Old man: This is the room sir.
The room looks so small with detached bathroom. There is a small cot with thin bed, which is already being used by the old man. There is a small table next to the cot and literally once a few feet of space left in the room to stand . Hardly, only 3 people can stand in that space.
Prakash is very disappointed on seeing the room, but also thinking that what can I expect much in this old man’s room.
Prakash: Ok, let me adjust in this room for tonight. Let me bring my stuffs and wife.
Old man: What? Do you have a wife?
Prakash: Yes. I came here to visit the place with my wife. Is there a problem?
Old man: But you didn’t said this before. How can we stay in this small room? I thought you are the only one who need the room stay, so I have decided to share my room with you.
Prakash: Sharing? You didn’t said that you will be staying with me?
Old man: Then where will I stay tonight! It’s my room, of course I’ll stay here only. You can join here if you want!
Prakash: Oh god! What kind of situation is this.
Old man: I would come to my room to sleep only during midnight. So, leave me a space in the cot.
Prakash: Can you adjust to sleepover anywhere here?
Old man: No. It’s a cold season and am an old man. So, I cannot stay out to sleep. Leave a space for me in the cot , I would come in the midnight (saying this, the old man left the place)
Prakash: (What do we do now, we do not have any option, let’s adjust this for tonight).
Prakash came out of the hotel and approached near the car and got inside the car.
Priya: What Prakash? Did you manage to see the room? Is that ok to stay.
Prakash: (In a thoughtful state) Yes, I did see the room. It is a small room with only one cot, attached bathroom with small space left to stand (He didn’t mentioned about the damaged door and sharing the bed with the old man. He didn’t do it purposely, but it didn’t came to his mind while saying this as he was talking with her in a thoughtful state).
Priya: It’s ok Prakash. We can adjust here for today and will checkout from the place tomorrow early in the morning.
Prakash: Hmm. Ok. Let me bring the luggage.
He walked to the rear side of the car and opened the car’s boot to take out the luggage. He carried the luggage and walked inside the hotel and Priya following behind him. Prakash couldn’t find the old man in the reception, so he straightaway went inside the old man’s room. The room was already in the open state, they both went inside the room.
Priya: (After seeing the room in 360 degree) Prakaaash! This room is so small and hardly have a space to stand. The bed is used by the old man already.
Prakash: Yes Priya. What shall we do, we have no option now (on hearing the term old man and bed, Prakash suddenly remembered what old man said to him about sharing. He was thinking what will she think and how will she react if we say this to her now. Prakash got into dilemma whether to inform this to Priya or we can manage without letting her know about this. But how do we manage. We should let Priya sleep towards the wall side and we can lay next to her. If the old man come in the mid night to sleep, he can lay next to me. However, he will come late and will wake up early and leave the room).
Priya: Yes, you are right, let’s adjust here for tonight. (Saying this she turned towards Prakash and can see that Prakash is thinking something his mind and he is mentally not present here. She called his name). Prakash! Where are you? Have you gone to a deep thought or what?
Prakash: No Priya, am just thinking how do we spend our night here.
Priya: It’s ok Prakash. Just one night, we can adjust. (Seeing the cot size she said to him, at least this bed can accommodate 2 people).
Old man: What sir, you again came back.
