I don't think he has to leave them. But he needs to stop depending on Desai , Krish should become a self-made man. He individually needs to evolve and improve and grow and become a better person and to some extent Meera should witness it , that way she would see that Krish can be the man of her dreams she wants him to be. But yes , the separation should happen eventually because only by separation between them can they realize what they have missed in their life.
