Chapter 6 : The Mall again - A Chance Encounter

The weekend hustle and bustle of the upscale mall enveloped Alina like a warm embrace. The air was thick with the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the sweet aroma of pastries from a nearby café. She and Rehan had envisioned a simple day together, yet an unspoken tension crackled between them like static electricity. It had been almost two weeks since she had felt any real spark, and lately, Rehan had taken to teasing her about Sachin. During their intimate moments, he’d urged her to picture it was Sachin’s hands on her instead of his, but his efforts fell flat. Deep down, she wondered if Sachin would be as lackluster in bed.

As they wandered past the gleaming storefronts, Alina’s eyes danced over the latest designer handbags, each one a tempting distraction. The vibrant colors and luxurious textures were almost enough to pull her mind away from her husband’s teasing. But just then, Rehan’s phone buzzed incessantly, its shrill tone slicing through the ambient chatter of shoppers. Alina rolled her eyes, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. “You know, you could at least pretend we’re on a date,” she quipped, feigning a pout while crossing her arms.

Rehan glanced at her, momentarily distracted from the screen. “I promise, babe, this won’t take long,” he said, his voice already slipping into that official tone she knew too well. She watched as he stepped a few feet away, his brows furrowing in concentration. The sound of his voice faded into the background, blending with the soft hum of conversations and the clatter of shopping bags.

With a sigh, Alina leaned against a chic display, her fingers brushing over a silk scarf that caught the light just right. The cool fabric felt luxurious against her skin, a stark contrast to the heat pooling in her belly from Rehan’s earlier teasing. She could hear snippets of his conversation, the authoritative cadence of his words making her stomach churn with a mix of irritation and longing.

When he finally returned, the warmth in his eyes was overshadowed by the weight of work. “Sorry about that,” he said, running a hand through his hair, the familiar gesture only amplifying her frustration. “You know how it is.”

“Yeah, I know how it is,” she retorted, her tone tinged with mock annoyance. “Work first, wife second. Maybe I should just start texting Sachin for some fun.” A daring smile played on her lips as she watched his expression shift, the flicker of surprise quickly masked by a frown.

Rehan opened his mouth to respond, but she cut him off, “I mean, if you’re going to keep pushing him on me, I might as well see what all the fuss is about.” Her heart raced with mischief, the thrill of her boldness sparking a fire in her veins.

“Alina,” he warned, but there was a hint of amusement lurking beneath his serious facade. The tension between them hung heavy, a delicious dance of desire and defiance, and for a moment, the world around them faded into the background.

“Need anything from the car? I have to jump on a call with a client, and the car is the best spot for it. I’ll be back in thirty,” Rehan said, interrupting her thoughts.

“Nope, all good here,” Alina replied, flashing him a cheeky grin that didn’t quite reach her eyes.

Rehan nodded, scanning their surroundings before striding toward the parking lot. As his figure faded into the crowd, she felt a mix of relief and restlessness wash over her. Alina drifted into a high-end boutique, her fingers grazing the soft fabrics hanging on the racks, searching for something to spark her interest.

Just as she was flipping through a vibrant dress with intricate patterns, a familiar voice sliced through the ambient chatter. “Alina, what a pleasant surprise!”

She turned to find Sachin standing there, his confident smile illuminating the space around him. He wore a casual yet stylish outfit that hugged his broad shoulders, radiating an effortless charm that made her pulse quicken.

“Sachin! Fancy running into you here,” Alina replied, her tone light but cautious, like a cat ready to pounce. “What brings you to this side of the mall?”

“Just indulging in a bit of retail therapy. A break from the grind is always welcome,” he said, his dark eyes sparkling with mischief. “And you? Shopping for something special?”

“Just a little something to spice up my wardrobe,” she shot back, a playful glint in her eye. “You know how it is—gotta keep things interesting while Rehan’s busy with work.”

His gaze lingered, an electric tension crackling between them. Sachin’s smile grew wider, a predator sensing his prey. “If this keeps happening, you might think it’s all part of some grand plan,” he teased, his voice smooth like dark chocolate. “But hey, perfect timing! How about you help me pick out some outfits? I could really use a woman’s touch.”

Alina raised an eyebrow, her heart racing with a mix of curiosity and mischief. “Oh, so now I’m your fashion consultant? What’s next, a personal stylist?” she shot back, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. “Sure, why not? Let’s see what you’ve got.”

They weaved through the boutique, Alina’s fingers gliding over rich fabrics, feeling the textures against her skin—silk, cotton, and a hint of cashmere. With each dress she examined, she discarded those that didn’t catch her fancy, her instincts sharp. “Nope, too boring,” she murmured, tossing aside a dull gray shirt as if it were a crumpled piece of paper.

Sachin trailed behind her, his eyes wide with anticipation, like a puppy eagerly waiting for a treat. “You really know how to keep things interesting,” he remarked, watching her with a mix of admiration and intrigue.

After twenty minutes of rummaging through racks, Alina had gathered nearly ten shirts and tops, each one a potential game-changer for Sachin’s wardrobe. He looked at the pile, uncertainty flickering across his face. “Uh, how do I even try these on?” he asked, scratching his head, clearly overwhelmed by the sudden influx of options.

“Just follow my lead, Mr. Fashionably Challenged,” she replied with a laugh, her confidence radiating as she gestured toward the fitting rooms. “Time to see if you can pull off more than just a boardroom look.”

Alina couldn’t help but chuckle at the confused expression on Sachin’s face. He looked utterly overwhelmed, surrounded by a mountain of fabric, and a thrill of excitement coursed through her. Embracing her inner fashionista, she jumped into the task with gusto, losing count of how many outfits she had gathered. “Let me handle this,” she declared, her grin wide as she snatched the heap of clothes from his hands and tossed them onto a nearby stand.

With a mischievous sparkle in her eye, she began dbanging shirts and tops over his shoulders, inspecting each piece like a pro stylist. The soft fabrics felt luxurious against his skin, and she lost herself in the playful rhythm of the moment, completely unaware of how his breath hitched at her touch. She cinched a shirt around his hips, her fingers brushing against him, gauging the fit, and for a brief second, the air between them buzzed with unspoken tension.

“Alright, Mr. Fashion Disaster, let’s see what you can rock!” she teased, her voice light and playful as she sifted through the options. After a careful review, she held up four striking pieces, each bursting with color and style. “You can grab all four if you want, but you better try them on first! Can’t have you wandering around looking like a lost puppy,” she joked, her laughter ringing like a sweet melody in the boutique. The excitement hung in the air, a delicious mix of friendship and playful challenge.

Sachin stepped into the dressing room, the pile of shirts in his hands almost overwhelming. He slipped on a navy blue shirt, the fabric soft and cool against his skin, and marveled at how perfectly it hugged his broad shoulders. “Damn, she really knows her stuff,” he thought, a grin spreading across his face. Feeling a rush of confidence, he undid a couple of buttons, exposing the top of his chiseled chest. With a smirk, he headed out of the dressing room.

Alina leaned against the wall, her arms crossed, waiting with an expectant smile. When he emerged, she raised her thumb high, her eyes sparkling with approval. “Look at you! That shirt’s practically begging to be worn!” Though her gaze flickered over his chest, she kept her tone light, teasing him with a playful edge.

When he returned in the third shirt, four buttons undone, the air shifted. His sculpted pecks and defined abs were on full display, each muscle a testament to years of dedication at the gym. He looked like a work of art, a Greek statue come to life. Alina’s breath caught for just a moment, her heart racing as she took in the sight. “Wow, are you sure you’re not trying to distract me?” she quipped, her voice laced with mischief.

“Maybe I am,” he shot back, a cocky grin plastered on his face. The playful banter hung between them, thick with tension. Alina felt a thrill run through her, a mix of admiration and an undeniable urge to reach out and touch, to see if his body was as solid as it appeared. The moment crackled with energy, both of them acutely aware of the magnetic pull drawing them closer.

“Hey Alina, can you come here for a second?” Sachin called out, his voice laced with mock confusion. As she stepped into the dressing room, the sight that greeted her sent a rush of heat through her. His shirt hung open, revealing a sculpted chest and glistening abs, each muscle defined and inviting. The fabric barely contained the intensity of his physique, and her gaze traveled down, tracing the sharp lines of his V shape leading tantalizingly toward the waistband of his pants.

“Wow, Sachin, are you trying to seduce me or just show off?” she quipped, her tone laced with playful sarcasm as she leaned against the doorframe, crossing her arms. The air crackled with tension, a mix of teasing and undeniable attraction.

He smirked, clearly enjoying her reaction. “Maybe a little of both,” he shot back, a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Alina’s breath hitched as she caught herself staring, a wave of embarrassment washing over her. Her cheeks flamed crimson, and she felt the heat radiating from her skin. “Okay, okay, I get it! You look good. Just don’t let it go to your head,” she retorted, forcing a laugh to mask her sudden shyness.

Sachin chuckled, his laughter rich and warm, as he pointed at her flushed face. “Too late for that! Look at you—you’re practically glowing.”

“Shut up!” she shot back, a grin breaking through her embarrassment. The playful banter danced between them, thick with unspoken desire, as she savored the moment, the tantalizing mix of attraction and humor igniting the air around them.

He pulled Alina closer, positioning her against the dressing room mirror. Her cheeks flamed crimson, but soon laughter bubbled up, breaking the tension. “Alina, oh my god, you should have seen your face a minute ago!” Sachin teased, his voice light and playful. Alina, still caught in the moment, playfully jabbed his bare chest with her finger, feigning anger.

It took a heartbeat for them to realize the closeness of their bodies—Sachin’s semi-nude form against her, the air thick with unspoken electricity. Suddenly aware of the intimacy, Alina’s eyes widened, and she sprang back, heart racing. She dashed out of the dressing room, laughter mingling with embarrassment, while Sachin followed, a smirk playing on his lips as he gathered his clothes.

“Hey, relax! It was just a little fun,” he called after her, effortlessly steering the conversation back to lightness. He held up a sleek, black dress, the fabric shimmering under the boutique lights. “What do you think? Would this suit you?” The dress hung in the air between them, inviting and bold, as Alina’s pulse quickened at the sight.

Alina chuckled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Close to my style? That’s a compliment coming from you!” She tossed her hair back playfully. “Why don’t you let me try it on? I’m curious to see how it looks on this body.”

With a raised eyebrow, she snatched the dress from his hands. “Alright, but only because I was already on the hunt for something new.” As she strode toward the changing room, she felt his gaze on her, a warm pressure that made her pulse quicken. He had an uncanny knack for making her feel special, like she was the only one in the room.

Surprised by her own eagerness, Alina recalled how hesitant she had been the last time he’d coaxed her into a fitting room. This time, however, she felt a thrill at the thought of slipping into something just for him.

Inside the dressing room, she peeled off her top, the cool air brushing against her skin, sending a shiver down her spine. As she slid into the dress, the fabric hugged her curves perfectly, accentuating her figure in all the right places. A smile crept onto her lips as she admired her reflection, wondering how Sachin seemed to know her size so well. ‘Seems like he’s had some practice with women’s shapes,’ she thought, biting her lip, amused by the idea.

Alina emerged from the dressing room, the black dress hugging her curves like a lover’s embrace. The fabric glimmered under the boutique lights, catching every contour of her waist and hips, infusing her with a surge of confidence that felt electric. Sachin’s eyes widened, a genuine spark igniting in his gaze as he took in the sight of her. “Wow. You look absolutely stunning, Alina,” he breathed, admiration lacing his voice.

She felt the heat rise in her stomach as his gaze traveled over her figure, lingering on the way the dress accentuated her shape. “Stunning? Are you sure you’re not just trying to sweet-talk me? I feel like I’m drowning in this thing,” she quipped, a playful smirk teasing her lips. The jeans peeking out from beneath the hem were an unfortunate reminder of her everyday life. “If only I’d ditched these jeans, maybe I’d really have your full attention,” she added, winking playfully, a thrill coursing through her at the thought.

His smile broadened, but a flicker of frustration crossed his features. “Next time, promise me you’ll go all out. I’d love to see those legs,” he thought, the idea igniting a fire in his chest. Alina caught the intensity in his eyes, a rush of pride mingling with something intoxicating—a delicious danger that sent shivers down her spine.

“Thanks, Sachin. But let’s be real; I’m not exactly turning heads here,” she replied, feigning modesty, even as her heart raced at his compliment.
He stepped closer, the air thick with unspoken tension. “It’s not flattery, Alina. It’s the truth. You deserve to be admired, not just for how you look but for everything you are,” he said, his voice dropping to a husky whisper that wrapped around her like a warm embrace.

Alina’s heart raced, a flutter of excitement igniting within her. Sachin had a knack for weaving intimacy into his words, making them feel like a secret shared just between them. She was accustomed to being praised for her sharp mind and professional prowess, but this was different—this was intoxicating.

“Why don’t you try on a few more? Let’s make the most of this time before Rehan swings by,” Sachin suggested smoothly, a playful grin lighting up his face as he handed her another dress.

Caught in the moment, Alina snatched the dress from him and slipped back into the changing room. The fabric felt cool against her skin as she tried on more outfits, each one transforming her reflection into something new. Sachin’s compliments flowed like honey, sweetening the air around them, making her laugh until her cheeks ached. It was a refreshing change; he saw her in a way Rehan never did.

When she stepped out in a vibrant red dress, the color igniting her figure, Sachin’s gaze sharpened, his eyes darkening with appreciation. “If Rehan doesn’t buy that for you, I will,” he declared, his voice low and teasing.

Alina burst into laughter, a rich sound that echoed through the boutique, warm and light. “You’ve got quite the eye for fashion, Sachin. I’m impressed. Looks like shopping for women could be your side hustle!” She twirled playfully, letting the fabric swirl around her, feeling its soft caress against her skin, the thrill of the moment wrapping around her like a warm embrace.

He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice. "And you have a talent for making anything look exquisite. But honestly, it's not the dress that catches my eye. It's the woman wearing it. And yes if the women looks anything like you, I will make this my full time job"

Alina felt a surge of pride, a warm thrill dancing through her veins. “You really know how to flatter a girl. I bet you use those lines on all the women,” she teased, her lips curling into a playful smirk.

Sachin shook his head, his gaze steady and intense, holding hers like a magnet. “Not at all. It’s only when it’s genuine. You have this presence, Alina, a confidence that draws people in. It’s not every day you meet someone who’s both beautiful and strong.”

Heat rushed to her cheeks, a sensation she hadn’t felt in ages. “You certainly know how to make a woman feel special,” she replied, her voice softening, a hint of vulnerability peeking through her bravado.

A mischievous smile played on Sachin’s lips. “I’m just saying what I see. If Rehan isn’t giving you compliments daily, he’s missing a golden opportunity. He should be punished for not recognizing your worth.”

Her smile widened, a mix of pride and something deeper swelling within her, intoxicating in its sweetness. She soaked in Sachin’s attention, relishing the validation that felt so foreign from Rehan. “Rehan is... preoccupied with other things. But it’s nice to hear such kind words,” she replied, her tone light but carrying an undercurrent of longing.

Sachin’s eyes roamed over her figure, appreciating every curve. “And that red dress—it complements your veil beautifully. It’s amazing how you can look so stunning even while being modest. That’s a rare gift.”

The red maxi dress cascaded around Alina with every step, the rich crimson fabric catching the light and highlighting her graceful movements. It clung to her figure just enough to tease at her curves, while still preserving an air of elegant modesty. Her matching red veil framed her face in soft, delicate folds, enhancing the striking color of the dress. Together, they formed a silhouette that was both sophisticated and captivating, radiating confidence and allure.

Alina felt a rush of warmth spread through her, a delightful blend of flattery and pride swelling within her chest. “You really know how to lay it on thick, Sachin,” she teased, a playful glint in her eyes. “But I appreciate it. It’s nice to feel seen for once.”

Sachin’s gaze lingered, his smile unwavering as he took in her beauty. “Anytime, Alina. You deserve it.”

Just then, Rehan walked back in, his brow furrowing slightly as he took in the scene. “Alina, you look incredible. Did you find something you like?” His voice held a hint of surprise, but no suspicion.

Alina nodded, her heart racing with a mix of exhilaration and guilt. “Yeah, just trying on a few outfits.” She glanced over at Sachin, who was still admiring her, and felt a thrill dance along her skin.

Rehan, oblivious to the tension, turned to Sachin and extended his hand. “Sachin, good to see you.”

“You too, Rehan,” Sachin said smoothly, his grip firm as he shook Rehan’s hand. “Just a coincidence running into each other. I was just telling Alina how lucky you are to have such a beautiful and stylish wife.”

Rehan forced a smile, but unease flickered in his eyes. “Yes, I am lucky,” he replied, his voice steady yet betraying a hint of tension.

As they exchanged pleasantries, Alina felt an electric shift in the air. Sachin’s words had sown a thrilling seed within her—doubt mingled with excitement, laced with a hint of danger. Leaving the boutique, she caught herself anticipating their next meeting, a flutter of eagerness dancing in her stomach. Each moment spent with him was like a sweet treat, making her feel cherished in a way she hadn’t experienced in ages. A warmth spread through her, wrapping around her like a soft shawl; she felt special, appreciated, and undeniably wanted.

Rehan, keenly aware of the chemistry crackling between them, felt a tightness in his pants that he tried to ignore. He didn’t want to miss this chance to see where it might lead. As Sachin began to take his leave, Rehan quickly interjected, “How about joining us for dinner?”

Sachin chuckled, shaking his head. “No, buddy. It would feel like I’m intruding on your time together.” His tone was light, but there was an edge of sincerity beneath it.

Alina’s heart raced at the prospect, her excitement bubbling over. “Oh come on, Sachin! It could be fun!” she chimed in, her voice playful, eyes sparkling with mischief. The prospect of sharing a meal with him sent a thrill through her, igniting a sense of adventure she couldn’t resist.
“We won’t take no for an answer,” Alina insisted, her tone teasing yet firm. “After all, we’re friends now, right? Plus, you’ve been so helpful with your fashion tips. Let us show our gratitude properly.” Her eyes sparkled with mischief, silently urging Sachin to agree. He noticed the flicker of desperation mixed with excitement in her gaze, a subtle invitation he couldn’t ignore. The corners of his mouth curled into a satisfied smile as he thought, ‘So much eagerness; I’m just a heartbeat away from getting what I want.’

He ran his fingers through his hair, feigning contemplation, savoring the moment. “Alright! Let’s do this. Anything for the beautiful lady,” he replied, his voice smooth and inviting. Then he caught himself, remembering Rehan was there too. “For the lovely couple indeed,” he added, a hint of playful sarcasm lacing his words.

As they began to search for a restaurant, Sachin’s confidence shone through once more. “How about that Italian place? It’s cozy and perfect for couples,” he suggested, his eyes glinting with charm.

Alina’s heart raced at the thought. The idea of a romantic setting sent a thrill through her, igniting a sense of adventure. When they arrived, she was captivated. The soft glow of candlelight danced across elegantly set tables, the rich aroma of garlic and herbs wafting through the air, making her stomach rumble with anticipation. The decor was sophisticated, with deep red walls and plush seating that invited intimacy. She felt a rush of delight wash over her, the ambiance wrapping around her like a warm embrace, making her feel both special and desired.
The restaurant enveloped them in a romantic embrace, the flickering candlelight casting gentle shadows that danced across the walls. A warm glow wrapped around Alina, making her feel both cherished and alive. The soft clinking of glasses and low murmurs of other diners created a soothing symphony, blending seamlessly with the rich aroma of garlic, ripe tomatoes, and freshly baked bread wafting through the air.

Sachin’s eyes roamed the room, searching for the ideal table. He settled on one tucked away in the back, where the lighting was dimmer, allowing for a more intimate atmosphere. As they approached, Rehan slid into his seat, but Sachin gracefully pulled out a chair for Alina, holding it until she settled down. Alina felt a flutter of surprise at the gesture, a spark of admiration lighting up her expression. ‘How charming,’ she thought, her smile betraying her delight. Sachin noticed her reaction, a small victory that fueled his confidence—‘One more point gained,’ he mused to himself.

The waiter arrived, presenting them with the menus. Sachin leaned in, his voice smooth and inviting. “Shall we order?” His choice of this restaurant was strategic; he knew the Italian cuisine well, while Rehan and Alina were likely less familiar with it. This was his chance to shine.

Alina glanced at the menu, her brow furrowing in confusion as the options swirled in her mind. The words seemed to blur together, and she felt a twinge of frustration. With a playful smirk, she turned to Sachin, her voice teasing yet light. “I could use a guide here. What’s your recommendation for a newbie?” Her tone carried a hint of flirtation, an unspoken challenge hanging in the air.

“I’m completely lost here, mister. You brought us to this fancy place, so you better order something delicious for me,” she teased, her tone light but daring.

“Something delicious for the delicious-looking lady,” Sachin murmured just loud enough for only Alina to hear, his voice dripping with charm. A rush of warmth crept up her cheeks, and she felt a flutter in her stomach, excitement mingling with the thrill of being noticed.

Rehan, who had been feigning disinterest, was actually plotting as he observed Sachin racking up points with Alina. This restaurant, with its intimate ambiance and soft candlelight, was the perfect setting for connection. If he could create space for them, perhaps it would lead to something intriguing. He imagined the possibilities, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.

Just then, his phone buzzed insistently, cutting through the cozy atmosphere. He glanced at the screen, surprised to see a client calling on a weekend—a rare occurrence. With a quick apology to Alina, he put on a contrite expression, signaling that he had to take the call. “Sorry, I need to handle this,” he said, his voice low and apologetic as he turned to Sachin. “I’ll be right back.” As he stepped away, he felt a mix of anticipation and tension, knowing he was giving them room to dance around each other.
“Its alright, buddy,” Sachin said with a playful grin. “I’ll keep an eye on Alina,” he quipped as Rehan stepped away, phone pressed to his ear. Leaning slightly forward, he locked eyes with Alina. “I’d never let a beauty like you sit alone in such a romantic spot for all the riches in the world,” he declared, his tone smooth and inviting. “You look… absolutely stunning.

Alina’s laughter floated through the air, a soft, melodic sound that seemed to dance with the candlelight. “Thanks! You’re not too shabby yourself,” she replied, her tone playful yet teasing. She felt the warmth of her cheeks as she adjusted her red scarf, fingers brushing against the smooth fabric, tucking it neatly over her crisp white top. Across from her, Sachin exuded an effortless charm in his casual attire, the way he leaned back in his chair radiating confidence. The aroma of garlic and herbs lingered between them, wrapping around Alina like a cozy embrace, heightening her awareness of the moment. With each heartbeat, the thrill of their interaction felt electric, sending shivers down her spine.

"So, how was your day?" he asks, leaning in slightly, genuinely interested.
"It was busy," Alina admits, glancing around the restaurant. "But productive. I managed to close a deal I’ve been working on for weeks."
Sachin raises an eyebrow, impressed. "That’s amazing. You’ve got quite the talent for sales, don’t you?"
"I like to think so," Alina says with a modest shrug. "It’s all about understanding what the client needs and finding the right way to deliver it."
"I can imagine you’re very good at that," Sachin says, his voice smooth. "You have this… natural charm. It must be hard for anyone to say no to you."
Alina laughs, her eyes sparkling. "I try my best. But enough about work. What about you? How was your day?"
"Nothing as exciting as yours," Sachin replies, waving a hand dismissively. "Just the usual grind. But I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while now."
"Is that so?" Alina’s tone is playful, but there’s a hint of curiosity in her eyes.
"Absolutely," Sachin says, leaning in a little more. "I’ve been intrigued by you ever since we first spoke. I’m dying to know more about the woman who has bewitched me."
Alina tilts her head, considering him. "And what is it that intrigues you so much, Sachin?"
"Where do I start?" Sachin says, leaning back slightly to give her a once-over. "You’re intelligent, driven, and from what I’ve seen so far, you’ve got a good head on your shoulders. But there’s also this… air of mystery about you. It makes me want to dig deeper." Sachin was playing to her ego by bolstering her thinking of herself as an intelligent strong independent women.
Alina raises an eyebrow, a small smirk playing on her lips. "Mystery, huh? What makes you think I’m mysterious?"
"It’s just a feeling," Sachin says, shrugging. "Like there’s more to you than meets the eye. And I’m curious to find out what that is."
Alina holds his gaze for a moment before her smile widens. "Well, I suppose I should keep you guessing then."
Sachin chuckles, making it sound deep and rich. "I like a challenge. But let’s start simple. Tell me about yourself. Where did you grow up?"
Alina takes a sip of water, thinking. "I was born and raised in Hyderabad. It’s where I learned the ins and outs of business, watching my father run his own company."
Sachin nods, interested. "So you come from a business-oriented family?"
"Yes, my father was a businessman, and my mother was a teacher," Alina explains. "They both instilled in me the importance of hard work and education. I suppose that’s why I’m so driven."
"It’s clearly paid off," Sachin says, feigning admiration in his voice. "It’s not easy to be as successful as you are at your age. Your parents must be proud."
"They are," Alina says with a smile. "But what about you, Sachin? What’s your story?"
"Oh, nothing as interesting as yours," Sachin says with a self-deprecating grin. "I come from a pretty average family. My parents were always supportive, but they weren’t as business-minded as yours. I kind of had to carve my own path." a well thought out story of an underdog adding to the already gaining points for Sachin.
"And you’ve done well for yourself," Alina points out. "You’re in a good position, from what I’ve heard."
"Well, I’ve worked hard for it," Sachin admits. "But I’m always looking for ways to improve, to get to that next level. People like you inspire me, Alina."
Alina’s eyes narrow slightly, as if trying to figure out if he’s being sincere. "Inspire you? How so?"
"Because you’re proof that it’s possible to have it all," Sachin says, his voice softening. "Success, intelligence, beauty… you’ve got the whole package. It makes me want to push myself harder, to see what I can achieve."
Alina looks away, a slight blush coloring her cheeks as she soaks in the appreciation she is recieving. "You’re too kind, Sachin."
"Just being honest," he replies, his tone gentle. "But let’s talk more about you. I’m curious—how do you balance work with… everything else? "
Alina hesitates for a moment, the mention of her personal life a reminder of her sexless marriage to Rehan. But she quickly composes herself, offering a practiced smile. "I try to make time for myself when I can. It’s important to have that balance."
"Absolutely," Sachin agrees. "So what do you do to unwind? Any hobbies or passions?"
"I enjoy reading," Alina says, her tone lightening. "Mostly fiction. It helps me escape from the stresses of work."
"Ah, a fellow book lover," Sachin says with a grin. "Any favorite genres?" he has mastered the book lover story with the numerous previous dates he had.
"I’m into thrillers and mysteries," Alina admits. "I like stories that keep me on the edge of my seat."
"Interesting," Sachin says, leaning in again. "I would have pegged you as someone who enjoys romance novels."
Alina chuckles, shaking her head. "Not really. I prefer something with a bit more… substance."
"That’s what I like about you," Sachin says, his voice low and acting all earnest. "You’re not like most people. You’ve got depth, Alina." He managed to turn a mundane point into another victory. He was proving his experience in the dating scene with his mastery in this conversation.
She meets his gaze, her eyes searching his for any sign of insincerity. But all she finds is warmth and genuine interest. "Thank you, Sachin. That means a lot."
Before they can continue, a waiter arrives at their table with menus. Sachin quickly orders a bottle of red wine before turning back to Alina.
"I hope you don’t mind," he says, his tone casual. "I thought a nice bottle of wine would go perfectly with our meal."
Alina hesitates, her eyes flicking to the wine list. "Actually, I don’t usually drink…"
"Really?" Sachin raises an eyebrow, feigning surprise. "Not even on special occasions?"
"I just prefer not to, nothing about you it comes with the '. aspect" Alina says, waving a hand towards her headscarf.
Sachin leans in, his expression softening. "Come on, Alina. Just one glass. It’s a special night, after all. We’re getting to know each other, enjoying a beautiful evening… What harm could a little wine do?"
Alina bites her lip, clearly conflicted. Sachin notices her hesitation and gently reaches across the table, placing his hand over hers.
"I promise, just one glass," he says, his voice almost a whisper. "If you don’t like it, you don’t have to drink any more. But I’d love to share this experience with you."
Alina looks at him, her eyes searching his for a moment. Then she sighs, nodding slightly. "Okay, just one glass."
Sachin’s smile widens, a sense of victory washing over him. "That’s the spirit."
The waiter returns with the bottle of wine, expertly pouring a small amount into Sachin’s glass for him to taste. Sachin swirls the wine, then takes a sip, nodding in approval. The waiter pours a glass for Alina, then fills Sachin’s glass as well.
"To new beginnings," Sachin says, raising his glass.
Alina hesitates for just a second then lightly clinks her glass against his, her expression wary but curious. “New beginnings,” she echoes, before taking a small sip.
Sachin watches her, his gaze lingering on her lips as she tastes the wine. “What do you think?”
“It’s… different,” Alina admits, placing the glass down. “I’m not much of a drinker.”
Sachin chuckles, leaning back in his chair. “You should indulge yourself more often. Life’s too short to hold back.”
Alina arches an eyebrow. “Is that your philosophy? To indulge?”
“Only in the things that matter,” he replies, his tone suggestive. “And right now, you matter, Alina.”
Alina lets out a soft laugh, shaking her head. “You’re very forward, Sachin. I’m not sure if I should be flattered or cautious.”
Sachin’s smile widens, his eyes twinkling. “Why not both? It’s not every day you meet someone as intriguing as you.”
She tilts her head slightly, studying him. “You seem very sure of yourself. Is this how you usually get your women?”
Sachin leans forward, his voice dropping to a low murmur. “Only when they’re worth the effort. And you, Alina, are definitely worth it.”
Alina meets his gaze, her heart beating a little faster but she tries to remain playful. “You know I’m married, right? and flirting with a married woman could land you in hot water. ”
Sachin nods, his expression unreadable. “I do. But let’s not pretend that changes anything tonight. We’re just two people enjoying each other’s company.”
Alina holds his gaze, her mind racing. She knows she should change the conversation topic, but there’s something about him that pulls her in, something dangerous and exciting. “You make it sound so simple.”
“Why complicate things?” Sachin says, shrugging casually. “We’re adults. We know what we’re doing.”
Alina narrows her eyes, a small smile tugging at her lips. “And what exactly do you think you’re doing mister?”
Sachin leans in closer, his voice barely above a whisper. “Getting to know you better. Maybe even convincing you to let your guard down.”
Alina feels a shiver run down her spine at his words. She knows she should be more careful, but the way he’s looking at her, with such intensity and focus, makes it hard to think straight. “You’re very persuasive.”
“I prefer to think of it as being honest,” he replies smoothly. “I’m not going to pretend I don’t find you incredibly attractive, Alina. And I’m not going to lie and say I’m not enjoying this.”
Alina’s lips part slightly, her breath catching in her throat. “You’re playing with fire, Sachin.” she tries to sound playful but clearly he is setting her heart on fire.
“Maybe,” he says, his tone teasing. “But sometimes, fire is exactly what you need to feel alive.”
Alina’s pulse quickens, the air between them charged with unspoken tension. “You’re bold, I’ll give you that.” she says trying to sound casual.
Sachin grins, his eyes never leaving hers.
Alina laughs, shaking her head. “You’re something else, Sachin. I’m not sure if I should be flattered or cautious.”
“Why not both?” Sachin suggests, his smile widening. “Flattered because I think you’re amazing, and cautious because… well, let’s face it, I am pretty irresistible.”
Alina laughs, the sound light and genuine. “You’re impossible.”
“Only if you want me to be,” Sachin says, his tone teasing. “But in all seriousness, Alina, I’m really enjoying this. You’re… you’re different from anyone I’ve met before. So thank you for God for this opportunity.”
Alina looks at him, her defenses slowly crumbling. There’s something about him, something that makes her want to take a chance, to see what could happen if she lets him in.
“So,” Sachin says, breaking the silence with a playful glint in his eye. “What do you say we make this evening even more perfect? How about we get something to fill you?” he pauses at that and continues “I mean some food to fill you up”
Alina grins, her earlier tension melting away. “I think I’d like that.”
“Good,” Sachin says, signaling to the waiter. “Because I’m famished already.”
The waiter arrives, and Sachin orders the main course as they continue chatting and flirting.
“Tell me, Alina… what else do you like to do for fun? What makes you feel alive?”
Alina takes a moment to think, her eyes locking with his. “I like to dance,” she says, her voice soft but full of meaning. “There’s something about losing yourself in the music, letting go of everything else… it’s freeing.”
Sachin’s eyes light up. “Dancing, huh? I wouldn’t have pegged you for a dancer with the dressing and modesty and all.”
“I’m full of surprises,” Alina says with a smirk. “You just have to be willing to discover them.”
“I’m more than willing,” Sachin replies, his voice dropping to a playfully seductive whisper. “In fact, I’m very curious about all the surprises you have in store.”
Alina feels a thrill of excitement at his words, the flirtation between them intensifying. “You might have to work for it,” she teases.
“Oh, I’m more than willing to put in the effort,” Sachin says, his tone playful but with an undercurrent of seriousness. “But I have a feeling you’re worth every bit of it.”
Alina can’t help but smile, the flirtation and the connection between them becoming undeniable. “You’re dangerous.”
“Dangerous?” Sachin echoes, his voice low and seductive. “Only in the best possible way.”
Their dessert arrives, but the real sweetness is in the unspoken promises between them, the undeniable chemistry that has sparked over the course of the evening. As they share the chocolate treat, their conversation continues.
By the time the dessert is finished, Alina realizes that she’s been drawn in by Sachin’s charm, his confidence, and the way he makes her feel seen, appreciated, and desired. It’s a heady combination, one that she finds herself wanting more of.
“Thank you for tonight, Sachin,” she says as they finish the desert. “I really enjoyed myself.”
“The pleasure was all mine,” Sachin replies, trying to sound warm and sincere. “But I hope this is just the beginning, Alina. I’d love to see you again.”
Alina hesitates for a moment, then nods, a small smile playing on her lips. “I think I’d like that too.”
Sachin’s grin is full of satisfaction, but there’s also a genuine warmth behind it. “Good. I’ll be counting down the days until our next date.”
They stand, and Sachin helps her with her overcoat, his hands lingering just a little longer than necessary as he brushes her shoulders. The touch sends a shiver down Alina’s spine.
As they walk out of the restaurant looking for rehan, Sachin turns to her, his expression serious but filled with promise. “It was really nice running into you, Alina. I’ll be in touch. I’d love to continue our little fashion adventure sometime soon.”

Alina smiled, feeling a flutter of anticipation. “I’d like that. See you around, Sachin.”

Sachin’s smile widened, and he gave a subtle nod as he saw Rehan coming towards them. “Absolutely. Take care, Alina.”

As Alina and Rehan walked towards their car, Alina’s phone buzzed. It was a message from Sachin:

“Tonight was enchanting, Alina. You’ve left quite an impression. I’m already looking forward to our next encounter. Until then, keep that beautiful smile on your face. ?”

Alina’s heart skipped a beat. She felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension. She quickly typed a reply:

“Thank you, Sachin. You certainly know how to make a woman feel special. I’m looking forward to seeing you again as well. Have a great evening! ?”

She sent the message and glanced at Rehan, who was preoccupied with his phone. As they got into the car, Alina couldn’t help but replay Sachin’s words in her mind, the thrill of the flirtation still fresh. The game was far from over, and she was eager to see where it would lead.
