Chapter 7

In the morning, Ashwin and Radha complete their chores. Ashwin departs for the construction site after informing Radha that he will return home for lunch, so she need not bring food to the site.

Ashwin replies, "It's 1:30 PM, Radha. I told you I'd be home for lunch. Why are you on the floor? Why are your eyes red? It looks like you've been crying for a while. What happened?" 
Radha: Nothing, sir. I'm just tired, that's why I'm resting here.
Ashwin: Don't lie, Radha. When I arrived, I heard your weeping and sobbing. What happened to you?
Radha, wanting him to stop asking questions, says,
Radha: Ashwin, you're here as my guest, so please stay where you're supposed to, okay?This agitated Ashwin, and he wanted to know what had happened to her and who had beaten her. She stood up, adjusted her hair, and left for the kitchen without a word. 
Radha said, "Wait a while; I'll make food in 45 minutes," as she walked toward the kitchen, her beauty apparent even from behind.
As she was about to enter the kitchen, he pulled her hand and pressed her back against the wall. They stood close, feeling each other's breath. Radha felt the warmth of his breath on her face, and he felt hers against his chest. Her chest rose and fell heavily, and he noticed it.
ashwin: what happens radha why he beat you like this 
radha: thats none of your business leave me she try to release her hand from his grip

Radha: This is not the city; it's a village. People would not appreciate what you're saying
Ashwin: "Come on, Radha, if they don't help with your needs, then why bother about those people? Your life is in your hands; don't waste it on him."

Radha stood silently, her head bowed; he knew what she was thinking.
Ashwin: "This is your life. Live it your way and don't worry about what others say."
Radha: "He suspects that I've been unfaithful to him with you."
Ashwin: "What... Damn, why would he..."
Radha: "His drunken friends told him that a good-looking, handsome man like you could easily steal his wife."

Ashwin: "Fool, how could he do this to you?"
Radha: "Okay, leave it. Let me cook for you," she said, attempting to leave while still bowing her head.
