Adultery Mom's fun

Spencer promptly sat up on his bed and made sure he was presentable for the woman of his dreams. "Yeah, sure." 

Breanna opened the door but remained in the doorway. 

Not saying a word, Breanna then took one step into her son's bedroom, and in her left hand, she held a pair of brown and brass gladiator heels. 

The color from Spencer's face drained. There was a moment of silence before Spencer smiled, "Oh good, you found the lost one!" 

"Well, I didn't," Breanna said, coolly. "Malcolm found it by the side of his house, of all places, and thought it was something somebody just wanted to throw away." 

"Wo- Wow, that's good luck that he found it and knew it was yours." Spencer wanted to jump out of his window and flee on foot. 

It was as if Breanna did not need to blink. "It was not luck. On the phone yesterday, Theresa told me that Malcolm said the only thing anywhere near the scene of the crime was a heel that looked like it was part of someone's costume. I called him and asked him if he had my lost heel. He did." 

"That's crazy. It's uh- Wow, it's a small world. I guess you never know where things'll turn up." Spencer had no clue as to how convincing he was being, but his mom's eyes were cutting through him like cold, steel blades. 

"Spencer, you're good at solving these types of problems... Would you mind telling me how my right heel went from our driveway to outside the window where the spy was watching us?" 

"Um, well, you first have to consider all the possibilities. Like, for example, that the stalker has been watching you, and collected the heel in the driveway, and had access to your phone to know where you were going that night, and followed you to the party. I think I've heard of stuff like that in FBI cases. Also, there's-" 

"See, I don't think that's how it happened," Breanna cut in. "Ya see, I think the stalker saw me lose my heel in the driveway and then followed your father and me to the cocktail party, orhe just happened to know that we were going there." 

Spencer was not going down without a fight. He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could invent a deflection, his mom said, factually, "You're a terrible liar, Spencer. I knew it was you yesterday, and I got the proof today." 

There was nowhere to run, especially with his mom blocking the door. Spencer searched his mind for any possible explanation to get him out of trouble, but he came up empty. He blurted out, "You guys were acting really weird, and I wanted to know what was going on."
